    Electrolux Model 30 (XXX)

Yup it's definitely missing the gasket. I'm not sure if you can get one, maybe you might have luck getting one from a collector, but you can buy replacement bags on eBay. I've seen them on there from time to time. Here's a picture of how it should look. Daniel :-)

    Electrolux Model 30 (XXX)

Would you mind posting a picture of the front of the machine when front of the machine is taken off? There should be a gasket that goes all the way around the bag which should keep a tight seal. Thanks, Daniel

    Hoover Central Vac Motor BEWARE

The quality of it was bad. Who would put a one stage tiny motor in a CENTRAL VAC?? The motor is almost the same size as the one stage motor that is in the Tristar MG1's! The Flow-thru motors are great when needed for quietness, although I find that they don't give you the full punch that you can...

    Hoover Central Vac Motor BEWARE

I believe you are correct. It is an ametek motor, and I am pretty sure it is a single stage. That is right too about how cheap they make them and how much they ask for them. This system new is $499 Costco special.. With a one year warranty. There is no cut open diagram to show you the motor in...

    Hoover Central Vac Motor BEWARE

As some of you may already know, I work at a vacuum shop here in Windsor, and I would just like to inform everyone, incase you considered looking at getting a Hoover Central Vac or already have one thats almost brand new, about their motors. One came in a couple weeks ago, and I managed to snap...

    TriStar EXL

I believe this is the motor that should be in the MG2. To me it seems like such a rip off when they charge $1500 for this crappy little thing, compared to the motors that were in the CXL, DXL, etc. for the same price. Daniel

In the Market for a PN Canister

Where do you order the 100 bags for $36?? Thats really cheap even with shipping! Daniel :-)

    Seeking Hoover Dimension 1000 hose

@eurekaprince.. That is one of the reasons why I love my central vac. I use it with the standard NuTone 372 hose mainly, and I love having that extra long light weight length of hose. My old shop-vac, same as beerad's, has a 9 foot hose as well. Daniel :-)

    Vacuuming in detention

Our school has old numatics. They are the plastic type, but the bottom of the dirt bin is square. It is cylindrical all the way down to the bottom where it has like a square base with 4 casters. They are so quiet, and I got to use one of them once. Next time I see them I will have to take a...

    Rare Vintage Power Nozzles

Are these rare? We really never see them come in at the shop. I took one and cleaned it up to go with my NuTone 353, and my NuTone CV450 that is now our main central vac. The 353 is my benchvac. They are simply a eureka power nozzle with the NuTone label on it, same as the fairfax nozzles, but...

Sorry for the double post there, I dont know how that happened :s Daniel :-)

    TriStar EXL

The motor on the left is the MG1 crappy motor, just showing a comparison to a Kenmore canister motor (ordinary two stage motor). These small motors dont last that long. Daniel

    TriStar EXL

Yes, that motor should be the one in your EXL. The one in the MG1 is a very small one stage motor that is rather short lived compared to the two stage motor in yours. Here is a picture of the motor actually in the body. I have a picture of the motor in a MG1 as well that burned out already and...

Need a set of carbon brushes for my Hoover 28...

Do you have a picture of the old brushes by any chance? I might be able to help you out, as I work at a vac shop, and we have carbons for old machines, it just depends what they look like to match them up. Thanks, Daniel :-)

The most expensive vacuum belt i've ever seen!

Check the price on a tristar geared belt for the older series canisters. Consumer price at our shop is $20... for one. I had to get one for mine. Its crazy. Daniel :-)
