    I now have 2 HOOVER 29s

It is always good.... ....to have multiples. Good vac's are like firewood, you need to lay in a supply. Many vacuums very sensitive about status, some breeds only associate with their own. If they're the only one, they get lonely. Sometimes it's hard to tell. But things like blowing a bag, or...

    My "Not so New" Toy

I suggest... ....getting one of those short marble columns. Place a round over it, covering that with a tasteful velvet. Then set this work of art atop the display structure. A soft and semi-focused can light upon it...possibly even a glass encasement <br THAT VAC is beautiful!

    My first Electrolux!

Awright! Just finished up with Dave on getting the PN and hose for my incoming 'Lux! Woohoo! Dave, you're awesome! I hope to deal with you more in the future. And Patrick, thanks for the endorsement of Dave. It's always good to know who the best suppliers are by word of mouth.

    Hoover virgin no more!

Doug, The Kirby is in pretty skanky shape, but I'll post pics of it when I get the batteries charged up. No deep scratches or anything, though, so I think it will buff up nicely. I have since learned my Hoover is a Model 300...the El Cheapo Hoover for the budget conscious in the '30s. (I guess...

    Hoover virgin no more!

I picked up my first Hoover today! Woohoo! Saw it on Craigslist and...well...you know how the rest of the story goes. Also picked up a Kirby 516 in the deal! But,here's the Hoover for your viewing pleasure, and my restoration pleasure. It runs great, picks up well, and is rather quiet if you...

    Oreck "HALO" vacuum

Update on my Halo... I think we can pretty much sum up how effective this vac is at killing the cooties in your carpet. I received the below from the eBay seller today. Draw your own conclusions :-)

    My first Electrolux!

Ooooh! Thanks for the reminder Pete! My new/old percolator arrived yesterday! It's awesome and just right. 'Bout 6 cup capacity, with a cloth cord in perfect condition, down to the UL ring on it! Ahhhh....percolated coffee...the best! How I long for the days of truly "HOT" coffee, before...

    My first Electrolux!

And about the manual.... ...that would be very helpful, if you have an extra one or a scan, or what have you. Why is it taking so looooooooooooooong? *drumming fingers impatiently* John

Awesome! Now, if the darn thing will just get here! Grrrr....this waiting is killing me! Patrick, I would appreciate your help on the detailing and would enjoy getting together! And Dave...do you have a website? Shoot me a price on the PN and hose, would you? (And genuine bags!) I am really...

    Machine Buffing

Uhmm...no...read what Rick said too! Coz that's actually an excellent way to do it! And Rick...thanks for the reminder about the heat...the oven is a good idea. Because, as I was taught, if you can touch the part without gloves -- it's not hot enough. And bringing it up to heat using the...

    My first Electrolux!

You made my day! You mean I actually got a cool one? You folks have made my day! Dave, thanks for the info about the manual and power nozzle -- I'll let you know when this little gem arrives. :-) And Rick, thanks for the info about the brushes... Oh man, I am soooo happy...but dang, now I'm...

    Machine Buffing

Machine buffing and polishing... Dave, Lessee if I have this right...#1 is emery compound, #5 is a green compound -- which is best used with stainless steel. You might want to drop back from the #5 to #4, which is white compound. 2 things I would add to your regimen: #3, tripoli brown...

    My first Electrolux!

For awhile, I've been wanting to add an Electrolux to the collection. Alas, it's kind of hard as around here, thrift stores carry only the cruddiest latest plasticville stuff made in the People's Great Leap Cheapward Revolutionary Slave Labor Plant #1824934, China. But I digreess... Anyway, I...

    Oreck "HALO" vacuum

I'd thought I'd read somewhere... ...that UV light would not penetrate water very far -- even googled it, but couldn't come up with anything conclusive. So I left it out of my text. Anyhow, my $20 may even be a rip -- the reviews on the Halo are less than stellar, that's for sure. Breakage...

    Oreck "HALO" vacuum

Joining the fray... ...by the end of the week I should be able to speak with some authority on this -- as I nicked one of these (used) off eBay for $20.00 while in a "what the heck" mood. Actually, I think this might be a pre-Oreck model. I'm no marketing expert, but given that shipping is...

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself

Wow... ...add my hearty compliments to the Universal and service. Very nice indeed! I especially like that it is an urn. Very classy! Rick, the one I snagged off eBay is a 1959 job, made by the Enterprise Aluminum Co. This will be my second percolator. I also have a Knapp-Monarch Model 770 of...

    Hoover Platinum Collection

Saw those vacs tonight at Wally World! And I couldn't help but laugh -- someone where in a different thread predicted the trend would go back to bagged vacuum cleaners. I imagine Hoover is making that one small step for vacuumkind. Did you notice too, the soft bag versus the hard shell...
