Electrolux metal body motor weight comparison

and here is the partial motor from my rebuilt Super J. Motor is very similar to the Diamond Jubilee motor, but the plastic bag housing is just like the super J with no extension. The armature went on this one. This was a transition between the Super J and Diamond Jubilee motor. don't know what...

Electrolux metal body motor weight comparison

For reference, here is the weight of the plastic body Ambassador III motor, with the plastic motor cover on.

Electrolux metal body motor weight comparison

Some pics of the weight difference between an Olympia One motor (similar to Super J) & a later Diamond Jubilee motor. 3rd pic shows them with a plastic body motor. As you can see, the bag housing has an extension on it, due to the DJ motor being shorter. This actually makes it easier to...

did electrolux-aerus ever use lamb motors

I made one. I retrofitted an Ametek Lamb motor into a gray Ambassador III. It works much better than the original Electro Motor one. Ametek Lamb makes/made many different models of a 2-stage, 5.7 inch, thru flow motor. I picked one with dual ball bearings If retrofitting, save everything. You...

    John Deere vacuum?

If it is an Ametek Lamb motor, you can look it up on their website. Motors are inexpensive when they don't have "fits an Electrolux or TriStar" on the ebay listings. Know what you are looking for, and do some homework. http://www.ametekfsm.com/

    John Deere vacuum?

John Deere states this model has a two-stage blower motor. That is vastly better than the standard consumer shop vacuums with their cheap disposable motors. Probably made by a Chinese company, does it state anywhere the COO? (country of origin) It is still on their website, just google it...

    John Deere vacuum?

The canister shape is almost identical to some shop vacs by Mi-T-M. Notice the dimples on the top, and the latches on the sides. The hose connector appears different however. http://www.mitm.com/

    Electrolux serviced by Great Vacs

kudos's for getting it fixed properly, and finding a good repair shop. great machine.. very few people maintain their stuff today, vacuum should last another 25+ years. hard to find a repair place around here.

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

fair enough I do own a Super J, but my son has it. I rebuilt it so long ago, and never paid attention to the canister. My aunt needed a handle for her Electrolux, so I gave her one from one that I had. With this particular vacuum, it has a later motor in it. Even though I replaced the brushes...

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

It may be a FrankenLux, but it is most certainly a Golden Jubilee at the core. The depression on the top clinches it, as shown in this pic I found from an older post that shows one with the cover removed.

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

Nuances intrigue me, the model number on the door does not interest me. Doors can be changed. I was intrigued by the long canister with the depression. Also, as I lined up the models, I noticed the latch differs as well from the 1205 up to the Silverado.

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

I understand your points, but this vac has a depression on the canister, unlike the super J's. It could be a very early super J. It looks like it came after the 1205 & before the Super J. As I pointed out, it is a long body. If you notice, just behind the cutout where the power switch is, it is...

Super J / Golden J in disguise - factory refurbished

Clues point to this possibly being a Golden Jubilee, instead of a Super J. Comparing it to my other vacs, I noticed .. The 1205 canister has a depression on the top when you remove the cover. The canister for the 1205 is 19-1/8" long. The factory refurbished Electrolux I have looks similar with...

Electrolux Generic vs OEM hoses question

For the Perfect hoses you need the Perfect part numbers, sites will not mention it is a Perfect hose for Electrolux metal canisters (1205, super J, etc) it is: PART NO. EH8100W - WHITE EH8100SG - GREY for the Electrolux plastic canisters with the V-notch hose (2100 models & similar) it is...

    $10 Diamond Jubilee at Goodwill

I forget to mention a way to save money on specialty fasteners. If you are in the U.S., you can have Home Depot ship to the store without paying shipping costs. (This goes for other items as well. HD online carries a lot more than the stores)

    $10 Diamond Jubilee at Goodwill

thread size is 8-32 on the Electrolux canisters The screws underneath the rear blower door are known as fillister head screws, not so common today. I ordered stainless fillister & pan head screws for my Electrolux top covers. I ordered 3/4" fillister screws & 5/8" for the pan head screws. In...

Needed: Electrolux Model G rear wheel

to me that is repairable using a nylon bushing. The broken part is towards the inside of the vac so the repair would not be as noticeable. I would use a dremel and remove the jagged part and try to make it as flat as possible. Then cut a nylon bushing to fit.

    Is it worth the work?

Those should clean up. Use a working vacuum to suck the crap out of that bag chamber. The tops come off with four screws and you can then clean them separate from the vacuum body. Make sure you use some sanitizing wipes. After some light cleaning, you should test to see if they work and have...

    Here's the new Sauber/Aerus

the flame retardant chemicals added to the plastic back then caused the yellowing. I believe it was bromine. You can temporarily reverse the yellowing by making the retr0bright formula. I have tried it, and it does work. http://www.retr0bright.com/
