    Kirby models 516-561 question

Can someone back me up here. The 516, 517, and 518 DO have brush caps even though there is a rear housing covering them up. I should know since I've rebuilt 5 of them. I'll see if I have one laying around to prove my point.

Miele "Jazz" Dynamic U1 Upright Motor Issues

The belt has NOTHING to do with motor exhaust since this machine has two separate motors. No Miele dealer is going to service a Miele Vortex motor. They will replace them. It's possible some dirt is in the fan throwing it off balance but that's as far as I'll go with one. If you take it apart...

    Kirby Factory Rebuild

Ended up calling them today. The price of a rebuild for non original owners went from $375 to $588 plus 2 way shipping. I think I'll just scrap the bad pieces and get money for them hahahaha.

    Kirby models 516-561 question

516-518 have screw on caps for the carbon brushes and the 519 going onward had the brush holders with an external wire. The vents on the rear housing are slightly different on the 516-518 as well. They're more square.

    Kirby Factory Rebuild

Does anyone know if the Kirby Rebuild Department stil performs service on legacy units? I plan to put together a 519 using as many broken genuine parts so I don't get charged extra. Parts like wheels, bumpers, etc. The rear motor casting has a deformed ledge where the handle yoke sits and I'm...

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

If you do get it and use it, make sure you use Hoover Type O bags. If you use A bags, the door will blow right off.

My Cirrus CR-79 Handle is breaking

What's wrong with the old screws?

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

Those things are RARE. I mean RARE. Be very careful with it though as the plastic became brittle overtime which is why many never survived.

Anybody know how I can get A blue Windsor Sensor commercial upright?

Mine has a new brushroll, filters, and both attachments. It was also thoroughly cleaned. In case you ever wanted a second one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/314732584021

    Hoover Dial a Magic. Help/info

First of all, it's Dial A MATIC and not magic. Second, that appears to be a model 1110. The 1100 (First Dial A Matic) did not have a check bag indicator and it was also orange rather than blue. The hose did not have a cuff on the end that goes into the bag door. Rather, it was permanently...

A little pet peeve I have...

The only thing I didn't like about the latch style conversion bags was that they had a vinyl filltube which wore out under commercial use.

Hoover Concept One agitator brush inserts

Get in line with everyone else. Those brush strips have been discontinued for almost 15 years along with the plastic replacement brushroll that followed the metal one. Your best bet is to find a good used brushroll or pay up the wazoo for a one new in package whenever one shows up on eBay. In...

What is this UK Dialamatic?! Huh?!

I've never seen a U6003 with that front tag. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought the decal was changed.

Sebo D1 Canister Vacuum - Pros and Cons?

If you buy the Sebo from a dealer, they usually give you a 10 year warranty instead of 7 which is worth the price of admission along with the easily removable brushroll. That's what usually switches Miele customers over to Sebo. Don't ever take Consumer Reports for granted. They only test...

    Kirby Model c bumper trim

Why would you paint red ones? Those are hard to come by. If a tan one fits, I'd rather paint one of those since you can still get them new.

    Cloth bags for two oldies.

Will a Legacy Bag Work? Not even close. That's for a model that's 60+ years ahead of your 700. Hard to tell from your pictures, but you might need a bag ring if yours is missing. The bag that Hoover300 linked is the correct bag for your Hoover. There's a guy on eBay who 3D prints these rings...

If you owned Hoover, what changes would you make?

If they're making money and things are going well, I say don't change anything. They cater to a disposable market in order to compete with Shark. You have the same chances of getting parts for Shark as you do for Hoover such as brushrolls, belts, etc. If I was in charge of the commercial...

    Putting my Rinnbow toward!

I am probably one of the few people who changes the water every few rooms with my Aunt's D3C. After every use, I also clean the seperator with a toothbrush and rinse out the water basin. Despite being almost 40 years old, the unit does not have a mildew smell like many do and the fans are almost...

Help! Dyson dc33 brush roll stalls

If there's no grinding and it doesn't take much restistance to stop the brushroll, then you can get away with replacing the belts. It can be a pain since there are many screws/parts involved. You'll need a long T15 Torx to remove the 3 screws holding the clutch cover and a T10 torx to take apart...

    Question on Hoover bags.

A, Y, & Z all have the same mounting collar. However, Y bags are only for clean air vacuums like the Hoover Windtunnel. The A and Z bags are meant for direct air vacuums like the Elite, Caddyvac, etc.
