    Kirby G6 question

thanks Richard, I suspected something was not right there but wanted to hear it from someone other than the local vac repair shops. Will have to go this week to check on if they have this and what it costs. Is this something difficult to replace? Roger

    Kirby G6 question

I have a G6 with the fill tube which flattens out quite a bit when the machine is upright. I'm assuming this flattening is still there in use altho the machine still works perfectly. Is this normal? Roger Brown

    Kirby Zip brush question

How Does It Compare? I have both the Turbo unit and the zip brush. Got the zip brush with my G6 and there is no comparison between the two! The zip brush is bulky and easily slows down with the slightest pressure while the turbo tool continues on it's merry way. Turbo tool is a bit more...

    Fairfax

Chad, thanks Now I understand how a Fairfax works! That was a thorough but not thoroughly long explanation. I wonder if the suction was improved with the metal snout and filter bag? Roger (a transplanted Yooper!)

    Bissell Healthy Home

my two cents worth I've had one for nearly a year now. Got it on ebay for 17.50! I was surprised at the suction this has. Quite heavy but it has a fairly low nozzle so it can get under things. I did find that emptying it was not always easy. The dirt cup is tapered and sometimes lint will stick...

    Fairfax

Does a Fairfax use a similar dirt catching system as the Filter Queen? Also, are they still made? I've never seen one personally but the pictures make them look quite large.

    Electrolux floor scrubber/shampooer

Thanks guys Now, I remember (with your help)! Tried it out this morning with the floor finish we use for our community room and the kitchen is gleaming! Not as well as using the Electrolux brand but better than before. Trying to find an Electrolux dealer who will deliver to Vero. The Melbourne...

    Electrolux floor scrubber/shampooer

Does anyone remember the procedure for using an Electrolux floor scrubber to apply wax? Last weekend I was able to get one at Goodwill in beautiful condition with all the brushes and I cannot remember how you use the machine to apply the wax but I do remember using one and getting a much better...

Just curious -- Kirby Hose ends

Interesting. When we got our first Kirby, a Classic III back in the mid 70's I noticed those holes and wondered why and was told, originally, the same thing. After being convinced to work for him, and selling a few, he shared with me that the holes were placed there due to an incident many years...

    General Electric MV-2 Canister

Thanks, Alan What a neat little vacuum. Took your advice and made a bid. We had one of these in the 60's/70's for use with the large commercial vac and it was great. But, I don't remember something coming out of the rear as I see in the picture. Do you know what this could be? Roger

    Filter Queen Acesseries

I'm also looking for a specific Filter Queen accessory. The small motorized head (like the Electrolux Sidekick)for use on furniture and cars. Our local vac shops don't have them and I had no luck contacting Health-Mor as they told me the current model will not fit a Majestic. Roger

    Electrolux problem

It's fixed! Much to my surprise, using an Electrolux brand bag solved the mystery howling noise problem. Who would have thought the solution was so simple? Thank you, all, for your help and suggestions. Now, for the next help session...the unit came without the after filter on the exhaust and...

    Electrolux problem

I'll try that tonight when I get home. Maybe I should put the bag on the inlet part and then put it in the bag compartment to make sure it is seated correctly???

    Electrolux problem

bag question from filterqueen83 Do you mean there IS an incorrect way to install the bag? I noticed that the front of the bag (the cardboard part) seemed to be pulled in after installing but didn't think anything of it.

    Electrolux problem

unknown The lady from whom I received the vac said it started doing this a few months ago and she noticed that the suction was very weak. When she gave me the vac, I realized the hose was shot and replaced it but the howling noise is very unusual - not the noise I would expect if suction is...

    Electrolux problem

thanks for the hint Guess that means a visit to the local vac hospital and cross my fingers about what it could cost.

    Electrolux problem

I was recently given an Electrolux LE. Even with a new hose, there is a howling type noise if the suction is blocked, sometimes even when using the machine. My first thought was that the bag was installed incorrectly but the noise is still there with a new bag. What could be the cause and how...

General Electric MV1 and Hoover 8700

Thanks for the info. I've been to the VNA and Goodwill but didn't know about the Hospital thrift or Heaven Sent. Will have to try them. I'm going to Big Lots today so will stop at the Humane Society store. Wish me luck! Roger
