    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Dual section dust bag bottom Here's a look at the dual section dust bag from the bottom. The fabric itself is very heavy - feels like canvas. It doesn't seem to let a lot of dust through, but I'm wondering if it could be washed OK in cold water. Or if it could be replaced by a microfiltration...

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Dual cavity separator Here's a shot of the wire basket that separates the inner and outer sections of the dust bag. The bright disk is the bottom of the inner section. Around this is woven metal hardware cloth that keeps the two sections separated.

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Heavy cloth "dual" dust bag This is an interesting dust bag. It has a dual cavity. The inner one handles the bigger solids, while the outer one takes care of the lighter stuff.

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Label Here's the product label closeup. Please note the horsepower (3/4 HP) and amps (13). All of which is suction...

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Closeup Here's a closer look. I don't think the hose is original (it's very heavy and stiff) but there are extra fittings in the accessory carry bin in the back of the machine.

    Invincible Wheeled Cannister Vacuum

Here are some photos of an Invincible Model 752A wheeled cannister type vacuum. The upper section is painted steel. The lower section and lid are cast aluminum. It has not been cleaned but I suspect that if it were polished the aluminum would look spectacular. Note the two baby buggy style...

    Hoover FloorMate

Probably not a good idea. It's not very good at dry vacuuming hard floors, and probably would be much worse on a carpet. The carpet might also make short work of the soft rubber squeegee intake nozzle. The rotating brushes are fairly soft and low powered... and probably wouldn't do much to scrub...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

Reaction Retraction I took a second look at the D2 HEPA filter, and you're right, SOME dust has leaked past it. It appears because the sealing around the HEPA filter cartridge is not uniform. So I just got through adding some extra felt (very thin green self-adhesive furniture felt) to the...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

Well, I just took out the HEPA filter in the D2, and there is no evidence that any dust has leaked past the HEPA filter. There was no dust on the exhaust side of the filter, and no dust in the passageways leading from the filter to the motor. My conclusion is that no dust is getting past the...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

Dirt Devils are dust blowers? I beg to differ. The Reaction D2 has a HEPA filter, which effectively prevents any dust that gets by the cyclone system from getting back into the room. I can attest to its effectiveness; there's none of that overheated vacuum dust aroma you can get from an old...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

Thanks, Travis. That does look like what I saw flashed across the TV screen, albeit with 24 and not 21 cyclones. Not thrilled that it's a Europro product, but maybe I'll see one at Target or Best Buy one of these days. Meanwhile I continue to be quite pleased with the Dirt Devil Reaction D2...

    21 Cyclone Vacuum?

I may have dreamed this, or maybe it was a spoof, but I recall seeing a very brief ad on TV one recent night for a new vacuum cleaner with ... 21 cyclones. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the vacuum... Has anyone seen this commercial? Or am I working too many hours? LOL.

    Dirt Devil Reaction D2

Well, I have to say I continue to be impressed with the D2 every time I use it. I had let the carpeting go for a little too long, but the D2 sucked up all the cat hair and lint off the master bedroom carpet without a complaint. I found the rotating upholstery brush roll was perfect for getting...

    New BrushstainlessSteel Constellion

I recently saw a white painted version of this at Fry's. I was impressed with the sturdy construction - it's mostly metal, and very solid. As I recall, the price for the white one was about $200. I did wonder about its performance on carpets. It looked to me that the rug attachment was a simple...

    Dirt Devil Reaction D2

There's more than one Dirt Devil labeled "Reaction". But there's only one Reaction D2 - that's the one with the dual cyclones. But now, I didn't see the show. I'm guessing they didn't use the D2, but rather a lesser DD Reaction, so as to make the Hoover compare better.

    What happened at grandma's

A few thoughts: 1) Carpet fibers. Is the presence of substantial amounts of carpet fibers in the dust cup an indication of thorough vacuuming, or is it more a sign of an overly aggressive brush roll that is accelerating wear on the carpeting? 2) Grandma vs. younguns. I know my elderly mom...

    Dirt Devil Reaction D2

Just picked up a Dirt Devil Reaction D2 dual cyclone vacuum cleaner at Target. Initial impressions: 1) Great suction. Almost too much suction (can you ever have too much suction?). I didn't notice that it diminished after vacuuming two rooms. 2) No wrapping around of pet hair on the "air...
