    Eureka Upright Model 1945B

I've got one of those, but yours is in much better shape than mine. Like most Eureka models like this, it's a real beast. The VGII brush roll has a great sound too.

    Quite An Amazing Curb Find!

As nice as that Tempo is, I can't help noticing the Eureka Victory Enviro-Vac in the background. I'd be tempted to start a thread on those.

In Need of Some Advice Re: Lux Model XXX Motor

One of the first motors I ever dissected was from a model 30. It's a great motor, but a bit tricky for a beginner. If you can get the bearings off of the shaft, and the new ones on, and everything lined up right, you'll do fine. The thing with the model 30 design, if I remember right, is the...

    First Ever Vacuum Disassembly/Repair/Etc.

Bearings on a Diplomat are not serviceable, as they are sealed. They can be replaced, but it is still a pain in the neck that will require drilling out rivets and replacing them with nuts and bolts for the front (fan side) bearing. You may also need a bearing puller to do the job properly. The...

Royal Handvac with Blower and Sprayer Attachment

Anyone else see this on ebay. I've looked at a lot of Royals, but have never seen a blower / sprayer attachment. I have seen the rare straight suction nozzle a number of times before, but the sprayer is totally new to me...

Question about the electrolux model 2100

Production Dates Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure there were two 2100s. The first was the HI-TEC 2100 from the 1980s, which was successor to the Canadian model 2000. The second was from the early or mid 2000s. Unlike the Ambassador and similar base models, they both had the...

All those with Dirt Devil Hand Vac knowledge

You should be able to get a good start early. It's the odd models that are difficult. Many of the models listed that I don't have in my collection is simply because they are common and I haven't bothered buying them. The 503, 500 series, 172, and 08100RED are all easy to find.

All those with Dirt Devil Hand Vac knowledge

I've got a pretty good idea. It's a crazy long list. This list is based on personal experience and machines that are listed in parts lists. *103 - Classic Red 503 - Classic Red *103CB - Brown - Cleavland Browns 500 - Black & Yellow, Series 500 (some series 500 models were black & red, many...

Cleaveland Browns Dirt Devil Hand Vac

Great info! So, how about the plain models. When was the new style riveted rubber cover introduced? I've also seen a few models with what appeared to be an oversized hand vac rubber nozzle plug, but they seem rare. I guess my last question on that subject would be about the old plain metal...

    Is this rare?

I'd certainly take a shot at it. You might need to use a nozzle plug from one of your other Dirt Devils and it would be fully functional. I don't know how high it would go in terms of price, but it should be reasonable. I know the one I got was fairly cheap and looked like it might have even...

    Compressed Air Vacuum

It looks like the same mode of operation is used in these industrial systems. Take a look at the performance specs. Over 200in water lift on some models! http://www.nortonsandblasting.com/nsbvacuumcompressedair.html

    Compressed Air Vacuum

Has anyone seen a vacuum like this before? It looks like it works from a compressed air supply in a garage / workshop. A very interesting design. I thought about bidding on it, but I don't have a compressed air supply at home, and I'd prefer to buy something I could use right away...

Cleaveland Browns Dirt Devil Hand Vac

Great info. While the 881 is a low end model, I think that headlight style looks better, along with the rounded nozzle casting. Could you give me some info on when headlight styles changed or were introduced? The models with the simple semi-transparent "Royal" decals on the front (in my eyes...

    lose handle syndrome

I'd take the handle tube and very carefully wrap the area with tape to make it larger so it will fit more snugly and won't wobble around anymore. I've used this method with worn down pins that hold cloth bags on uprights, and it works quite well.

    Wireless Vacuette Impellor

I've given it some more thought, and I think you might be able to find someone who can weld aluminum to repair the original. They should be able to clean up the damaged blades and build them back up one layer at a time. After that you just need to grind or file them to the correct shape.

Cleaveland Browns Dirt Devil Hand Vac

Lots of papers back in those days. Includes full schematic and the Royal full line booklet. There were no promotions for a full Dirt Devil line. The probably didn't have a full model line yet.

Cleaveland Browns Dirt Devil Hand Vac

It's never been used and is perfectly clean. The only time I've run it is for this picture.
