No i was just saying that it would be the easiest way to resolve the matter. The red Turbopower is in good condition but it doesnt feel like a good build quality compared to other Hoover models.

My auntie has a similar machine to this dating from 86.

It could be easily aged by the serial number to settle this matter.

I wonder if many cleaners have been taken to a repair shop just for a belt breaking?
