Pink and red are not colors one would typically associate with a Lux XXX...

Wrong cord.... ....Game over! (Seemingly, very nice hose, however. Seemingly, as CR pointed out.) RB

    Vintage Royal: Five-Hundred Bucks!

More likely, .... (And/or hopefully,) Morgan has nailed it; perhaps it was a typo. If not, I refer back to door number one. Rick

    Vintage Royal: Five-Hundred Bucks!

I agree with Charles... He appears to be either an idiot, totally misinformed, or the most extreme eternal optomist. I choose door number one. Rick

    Hoover Model 402

Very nice find!! That is essentially the counterpart of the US Hoover model 55 TANK or cylinder cleaner, more or less a 'hybrid' between the 41/42 and the 50/51/53 (slanted metal front from the 41/42 and plastic back from the 50-53 series.) What is the motor rating? US 55 is 620 watts (approx...

    Prettiest Vac

My vote's with Charlie... The 30/XXX is as timeless as a '65 Mustang! The Hoover 825 is incredible (it's invaluable to be able to KNOW the make of your vacuum while running it at night without lights on in your underwear!) and a pristine Hoover 29 is like the Biblical 'Pearl of Great Price!'...

    Friends are AWESOME!

Very, VERY nice. If I were to have a Kirby, it would definitely be one of the gray/red trimmed ones. Original cord, too!! :) Very nice and very generous! Rick

I'm starting this thread for Toby. The Magic -Aire.

A G.E. Clone-a-like? Very nice vacuum, Toby. The inside reveals the same set-up as the General Electric (and Premier) tanks of that era; an attempt to increase air-flow by increasing the surface area of the bag (It draws from around and through the center of the bag.) Very nice and apparently...

    western electric early pic

Very cool pic Many people do (may) not have known that early homes did not have electrical outlets, hence the screw-in adaptors in addition to 'screw-in' cord ends. Thanks for finding/sharing this! RB

Ohhh, the utter shame and humiliation these poor XXXs must be feeling

Awful colors.... How very true, Morgan. And like Charlie, I tend to be more of a purest, but as you and Pete pointed out, it is better to have them preserved than headed to the crusher. There are, however, some vacuums I would heartily recommend doing just that! Rick

You done good, John! And yes, Matt...The posting certainly needed to be longer to harbor that many errors/oversights! Rick

Hey, just got a swivl top

Very cool find! They are great machines, David. I am especially a fan of the earlier, metal ones, but they were well-built vacuums, for certain! RB

    Well....Here is a HOOVER

Beautiful 84, but different Hello Hans. Another gorgeous vacuum in your collection and certainly one of my favorites! Currently, there is one just like it on Ebay about which I was about to ask Tom to be certain when I saw your post. The early 84's had that (hinged) base and with a very...

    Vacuums You Don't Use

Fred, your 53.... ...makes me moist (and I don't mean schvitzing, dahlink.) My 51 is quite, quite nice, but I doubt there is another like your 53. BTW,anyone, I am looking for a 53 to complete my Aero-Dyne run. Any sellers?? I promise it will go to a good home. Rick
