    Eureka Upright Model 2314

Hey Guys! I was given a Eureka upright model 2314. It's the domed hood in chrome with blue "brocade-ish" bag with the vertical Eureka emblem. I would consider it near mint except for the bag flange which connects to the bottom of the machine. There is a small hole and some spider cracks. It...

Cleaning Floor Polisher Brushes of Wax

Thanks, Guys! So...I guess the Ammonia and water is the best way to dissolve the old wax because ammonia does breakdown wax. I was wondering whether or not it would compromise the integrity of the brush itself. But, I will try all options offered! Thanks again guys!

Cleaning Floor Polisher Brushes of Wax

Hey Guys! Does anyone know how to clean the floor brushes of a floor polisher? I was told that they need to be soaked in ammonia to break down the dried wax. Even though they often appear to be clean, when you run the machine on a linoleum floor, for example, they make the linoleum shine like a...

    Electrolux PN5 Help Needed

Hey Guys! Can someone tell me...with the Electrolux PN5, why is it that the headlight vibrates/rattles? I took the nozzle apart and cleaned it thoroughly, replaced the belt with the missing teeth, replaced the bulb, and suctioned out all the fuzz balls and the like. All seems good. The brush...

    Hoover convertible

It may be a model 4123 I have been told that this model is rare. How rare? I am not sure about this. It's the last one that featured the hood without the headlight in this "style". Also, Smow, are you interested in an another ironing board--the wooden kind? Let me know I have one for sale!

    Iron collectors

Hello Guys! I have two old GE irons from the 50's that I don't want. One is a dry iron only and the other is a steam iron with the side water bottle that attaches on the right. Both have cloth-covered cords and do heat up. I have not tested the steam iron to see if it in fact it does produce...

    My vacuum collecting sickness

I hear all of you guys loud and clear! I, too, need to stop collecting. I do realize that I am more or less "rescuing" them as well as collecting them. I simply absolutely cannot resist a machine and more often than not feel like I am "saving" its life-as though its a person. I also know I am...

Kenmore Canister for Sale model 116.21714110

Spot-On! You are spot-on about this machine! Yes, the dirt sensor is not all that sensitive and I had wondered if it really does work. But your claim is accurate! The machine overall is not so much heavy to me as it is bulky. It's cumbersome to use. I can't seem to get out of it's way when I am...

Kenmore Canister for Sale model 116.21714110

That's exactly what mine did! Hey Cole! That's exactly what happened to mine!!! But from the looks of if it it doesn't appear to be easy to get at. I put a few marks into the plastic trying to open things up, and yet I didn't succeed at gaining access. Looks like poor engineering to me! What...

Kenmore Canister for Sale model 116.21714110

Hey Guys! I need to part with a few particularly this beauty. Runs perfectly. This machine retailed for $469.00 or more when it was new. It is missing the powered hand tool storage compartment door; however it doesn't affect performance. Features include: cord winder, variable speed control...

    Royal 880 maintenance

Royal oil OK ...here is the real deal on the Royal oil... Use only SAE 30 NON-DETERGENT Oil. Add only 2 drops...AND DO NOT TURN THE MACHINE ON FOR A FEW HOURS until the wick--yes there is a wick of sort inside the machine bearing that needs time to absorb the oil. If you don't wait, the oil...

How to clean and polish a Vintage Kirby

Blue Magic Polishing Cream Blue Magic Polishing Cream is, I would say, a notch above Mothers Mag Aluminum Polish, Flitz, AutoSol, and TopBrite. And, it claims to leave a silicone coating behind to help prevent tarnishing. And, it's more cost effective since a 7 oz. tub of it costs about 8.99...

    Blue Magic Metal Cream Polish

Hey Guys! Has anyone ever used or heard of Blue Magic Metal Cream Polish? I discovered it one day while searching online for a really good true and tried aluminum polish. I was interested in this for a particular machine--you all should know which one(s) I am thinking of. Truthfully, it does...

    Royal Model 606

Royal 611 Ben, Believe it or not I think that the model 611 was a non-repairable motor for the most part. In other words, the sleeve bearing were designed for longer-life but once they were worn, replacing the bearing was a very remote option. I had been told that many Royal motors are very...

    Miele?

Speaking of...Mieles Does anyone have any spare/extra attachments for a Flamenco II or an S280i series canister? I am particularly looking for the retractable wand plastic parking bracket that pulls out from the wand.

Kirby Heritage II won't turn on

It could be as simple as the motor brushes. Check them first. Or it could possibly be the speed switch controller in the front of the machine.

NOS Kirby Attachments Dilemma : To Use or Not To Use?

And the other saying is.... Use it or lose it! This is so true. I have had motors seize slightly because of non-use, and I have had machines discolor regardless of non-use. Parts will become brittle over time, cloth bags will fray and will dry rot over time even if they were stored near...
