    Impromptu micromeet

John, as I sit here in your living room enjoying the company of you, the cats, and 450 Hoover Appliances, I must comment on your impeccable baking and hospitality. Of course, you keep me in stitches with your wild tales and commentary. Thanks so much for inviting me tonight. I always enjoy...

    What vacuums do you use?

All of the hardwood, tile, furniture, and high dusting was done with my Rainbow D4. Carpets in the finished basement were cleaned with a Eureka F&G upright, main floor with a Panasonic upright, and the second floor with a Self-Propelled Hoover WindTunnel. The kitchen and bathroom tiles were...

A Lewyt that can still 'Do It' like it's 1952 !

If my understanding is correct, Jimmy (rugsucker),who has been cleaning out a MASSIVE warehouse of vintage goodness sells off those things through the eBay account "leisurelady". If I'm correct, he's simply alerting us all to the things he's selling so that we may find them more easily. So...

Paging Miss Connie Hoover........(Constellation, that is!)

Brandon, you hush! You didn't send me a box of scrap! That 719 and 589 will clean up beautifully and I've been using that Eureka every day since it got here! You sent a wonderful and thoughtful gift.    John, keep pushing him like that. He mustn't be so hard on himself.

Paging Miss Connie Hoover........(Constellation, that is!)

John, so true! The Constellation was a fine cleaner and a proud moment in Hoover history. I have 3 genuine bags left in the package, and the one inside the cleaner.    The weather up here is just as miserable. Cold, grey, and rainy.

Paging Miss Connie Hoover........(Constellation, that is!)

You know the old saying "When it rains, it pours!"? Well, it has certainly proven true for me lately!    Every time I say that I have too many d**n vacuum cleaners, four more show up! Three of them arrived via FedEx (Thread on that somewhere below) the other day from a very dear friend in...

I think this one nearly made the FedEx man keel over.

Jon: Jeez...has to be somewhere in the 60-75 range! (I am OUT OF ROOM!)    Will: I love the color too! I can't wait to get it all cleaned up and give it good mechanical treatment too.    Tim: The Eureka is a Model 630, indeed a K-Mart model from the 80s. Mine has the wooden brushroll too.

I think this one nearly made the FedEx man keel over.

A few weeks ago, my dear friend Brandon said he had a surprise for me and asked for my address. After much poking, prodding, and prying, I finally got him to tell me that the surprise was a NIB set of Hoover Concept One attachments. Feeling very lucky and happy, I gave him the address, and...

    Christmas Came Early!

While I was there, John unboxed his Christmas present to himself: a brand new in the box Canadian Hoover DirtSearcher Junior. The machine was made in Great Britain by Hoover Limited, Perivale.

    Christmas Came Early!

I stopped in to see Mr. John Gregory at Sweeper Central today. It's been too long since I stopped in and I wanted to send holiday wishes to John and his wonderful family. John surprised me with not one, but two beautiful cleaners as an early Christmas present. He knew I was on the lookout for...

Just gave the house an uber thorough going through with the Rainbow for all the bare floors and above floor detail cleaning and the Dyson DC28 AirMuscle for the rugs.   (I am NOT, NOT, NOT trying to start yet ANOTHER Dyson battle. I am just sharing my cleaning regiment!)   For the...

    Stiff Hose

Tom, your Kirby would be the Ultimate G or the Ultimate G Diamond Edition. Preston, first of all, no comment. Second of all, some people have had good luck soaking the hose in warm water to make it more supple and user friendly.

CleanMax Zoom (Riccar SupraLite) for Sale

It is a very nice machine, for sure. It feels very solid. I just don't have a need for it and would like to see it go to a good home where it will be used.

CleanMax Zoom (Riccar SupraLite) for Sale

Hey all, Up for sale today is a rebranded Riccar SupraLite, labeled CleanMax Zoom. I purchased this machine with the intent of using it to clean a church, because of its size and weight. That ended up falling through, and I have no other use for this particular machine. As you can see from...
