    TTI and Oreck

But... We have seen what TTI has done to Hoover and Bissell. There shouldn't be any hope! TTI practically ruined those brands!

    TTI and Oreck

well... It's the 8 pound design that made Oreck successful  It's the lack of sales, that I think, made them bankrupt. Every Oreck that I have is in great shape. My aunt had an Oreck for 14 years before she gave it to me. There was nothing wrong with it whatsoever. TTI <span...

    Favorite Vacuum

my favorite... my favorite vacuum would probably be my Oreck XL3600 40th Anniversary Edition or my Oreck XL21 which I am using right now. They are both very powerful vacuums and they do a great job grooming the low pile carpet in my house. They are also great at doing the italian stone floor in...

    Kirby Classic Omega

I have this all original Kirby Classic Omega but it's all in pieces and I don't know if I want to make it work again. The handle bolt is broken, it has no brush roll, it has no belt and that's basically it. It runs perfectly and it's really clean. I don't know what to do with it. I could refurb...

    TTI and Oreck

I know... some people think that Oreck's are just modified sweepers but they aren't. The Oreck XL21 is a full size powerful upright and it even compares to my mother's dyson.

    TTI and Oreck

now now... Kirbysthebest, stop being rude! Sebo_fan probably has a lot more experience than you so watch what you are saying. Also, not all people think kirbys the best.

Yes! sebo_fan, thank you for making that point!

    When has Dyson...

I wouldn't believe that until i were to use one.

    When has Dyson...

I wasn't... I wasn't calling your favorite brand rubbish I was calling the model rubbish. I personally love dyson and my DC07

    When has Dyson...

Here in the us at least, the DC40 and DC07 are completely different. The DC40 here is complete rubbish. The DC07 here is much better. I would sorta compare this to Oreck in the U.K. And other countries.

    When has Dyson...

I am... I am simply conparing that experience to the experiences I had with older dysons such as my aunt's dc07 animal and my dc07 full gear. The quality of the dc07's is much bettet than that of a dc40

    When has Dyson...

oh have I! I used my cousin's DC40 and the thing practically fell apart when I was using it. The part that holds the handle to the base fell apart when I was using it! Then the part that connects the cleaning head to the dirt bin disconnected and spewed dirt everywhere! My cousin got sick of...

    When has Dyson...

I think... I think that the newer dysons are worse than the old ones.

    When has Dyson...

dys0nb0y, I didn't actually see your post but based upon what vintagerepairer wrote, Im assuming you where defending Dyson. I get that you love Dyson but part of being a vacuum collector is understanding that your favorite brand, or any brand for that matter, isn't perfect and will probably...

    some vacs for sale

Oh my! I just looked at this thread and it looked as though there was some arguing going on about palstic garbage. I happen to collect some plastic machines and they work great. Not all plastic machines are garbage. Maybe that's a stereotype going around :P anyway, hoover119dude, I would all...

    When has Dyson...

when did Dyson change the way that they make their machines? My mothers DC33 is much different than my DC07. the DC33 feels cheap and flimsy. For example: the wheels on my moms DC33 keep popping off. When I was vacuuming the hardwood floor in our foyer, the right back wheel feel off. Then days...

    TTI and Oreck

Since TTI has acquired Oreck, I have noticed a major change. Oreck has made great quality products and now TTI has ruined that. I am thankful as TTI has saved oreck I just wish that they didn't change so many things. Such as the model line up, Oreck used to make the same style machines just with...

The Hoover-ification of Oreck Has Begun

I agree!! jaker15, I completely agree. TTI has ruined all those brands. I would like to see a new "oreck" out perform one of my older XL 2's.

The Hoover-ification of Oreck Has Begun

I prefer older orecks, the newer ones seem... too new. The older ones are classic and more durable and stronger. I know that TTI has made some improvements to Oreck, but the new machines that they have come up with seem a little too plasticy. I liked Oreck much better back when they were making...

A Lewyt that can still 'Do It' like it's 1952 !

No... Some vacuums made after 1965 are great.... like oreck. Unlike dyson.
