How to wash Royal Hand Vac bags?

How would you replace a belt? I have to think the front is removable but we are not seeing something.

New member. Here is my Hoover Constellation I picked up on Saturday.

Compatible Hoover wands are always on the US eBay site and vac shops have boxes of them from trade ins they parted out.

Electrolux Epic 6500 SR Motor Replacement

I just received confirmation from Dennis Manci, the Pres of Electromotor that "The 65000-298 motors are wound, assembled, run in and tested in our Tennessee factory."

Italian Industrial Floor Care Company called Eureka

No kidding ! I also never understood why Figgie International, Interstate Engineering's parent firm from 1977-1996, allowed a civil engineering company in North Dakota appropriate the Interstate Engineering name and aspects of their logo. Their website says the company was formed in 1976 but...

Brand New Miele sale, several models

The old solid black metal wands were mostly trouble free but the more recent chrome wands have bad latches and electrical problems galore. Their canister bodies are not as well made as the old S500 series or earlier. Cord winders remain fragile as ever and Miele doesn't bother to put a yellow...

Electrolux Epic 6500 SR Motor Replacement

They call it their "6500-242UP" with the UP standing for upgrade. 6500-298 is the upgrade for 6500-242. Better yet, just call and order over the phone so you know you are getting the right motor. They are nice people to deal with and their prices are unbeatable.

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

I meandered out to the garage to find the new one I have sitting out there. The tag on that motor doesn't say where it is made. The seller appears to have removed the original data sticker and replaced it with one of their own. I emailed a contact I have at Electromotor asking where 6500-298...

Curious what Florida hardware store sells Miele vacuums?

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Mine say they are made in the US. I have a couple in my garage right now. They are externally identical to the Guardian two stage motor. Lighthouse Motors sells them for $115 on their website. Electromotor does sell some Chinese made single stage motors but this one is a traditional two...

Their escalator sweeper-scrubber is kind of interesting.

Clear backed kenmore bags on ebay

Is it some sort of store demo bag because it seems, um, less than optimum as a workaday vacuum bag.

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Consolidated Grocers abandoned production in that ancient Connecticut factory ( it was old when Electrolux AB bought it in 1930 ) in a series of moves. Vacuum production went to Bristol Virginia little by little and motor production went to Tennessee. This was happening about the time the new...

Clear backed kenmore bags on ebay

Is that some sort of adapter tube inside the bag? So strange.

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

Um no. The DJ motor was made by Electrolux but it ushered in the style of motor also used in the then new plastic body 2100. The cool thing about the DJ is that there is a much more powerful modern replacement motor made in the same factory in Tennessee that made the DJ's original motor. Joe...

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

I have a soft spot for 1505 Silverados and 1521s in all the several names they were sold under. I too use the good four layer Aerus synthetic Style C bags and their charcoal pre-motor filter. Two of the best vacuums ever made.

"American Home Princess"; aka Filter Queen for Japan market

The Japanese models all came with the much sturdier 2-1000 power nozzle you see with pretty much all CXLs.

"American Home Princess"; aka Filter Queen for Japan market

Required Japanese safety feature. The Japanese require the power nozzle to have a little spring loaded roller on the bottom that pushes in a switch. The brush roll won't turn on unless the nozzle is on the floor. When you lift the nozzle off the floor the spring pushes the roller out and...

Vorwerk Kobold VK-150 from Japan, will run on US house current. German exotica in the far east.

You don't want it to seal. You need air to get under the nose of the nozzle so the dirt is caught in the airflow and carried out of the carpet or rug.
