Nothing can beat a truck-mount carpet shampooer for cleaning carpets/rugs! The Rug Doctor/Thermax carpet shampooers come in at 2nd place. The Hoover/Bissell carpet shampooers come in at 3rd place.

Schools in my area back in the day used commercial Sanitaire/Eureka F&G uprights, commercial Hoover Convertible uprights, commercial Hoover Elite uprights, commercial Hoover Conquest uprights.

Honestly, I wish the market would go back to what it was in 1990. They had about 80% dirty fan uprights and had about 20% clean fan uprights. Dirty fan uprights clean carpets/rugs much better than clean fan uprights/PN canisters. Nothing beats a dirty fan upright for cleaning carpets/rugs! :)

I wish TTI would bring the factories back to the USA and use Pre-TTI designs.

The Hoover WindTunnel Max/Hoover WindTunnel T-Series are TTI designed machines. The Hoover WindTunnel Anniversary Edition/Hoover Tempo are Hoover designed machines. The Hoover designed machines are much better than the TTI designed machines.

Kirby/Rainbow/Filter Queen/Thermax/Aerus Electrolux/TriStar Compact costs about $2000 today. Very expensive but well worth the price.

You might want to order the brushroll for the Perfect PN canister. I heard this beaterbar has stiff bristles.

I would take the self propelled machine...Much easier to push!

Alright. Make sure you use one of your machines. I understand where you are coming from. I recommend changing the bag and the belt 1st before you vacuum and again after you vacuum.

Do not loan out any of your vacuums. Change the bag and the belt in the Oreck 1st and you will be good to go. :)
