Kirby Heritage II 2-HD (Goodwill find)

A hubcap with a sticker on it. I assume these are to keep the finish of them, kind of like what they do for electronics? I'm surprised they're still on if that's the case.

Missing hubcap. The ultimate sign of a beater car - or vacuum.

Micro-Matic height adjuster pedal. I quite like the look of this. Retro-tastic!

    Brushroll spinning. Whee!

Shot of the headlight turned on. I swear to God, these headlights are indestructible.

View of the bag area, which is also pretty clean. I still prefer bagless.

Underside. The brush roll is pretty clean.

Headlight assembly. It comes with a helpful infographic for first-time Kirby owners. Wish I had that when I got my first, lol.

Kirby Heritage II 2-HD (Goodwill find)

Serial number. It was built in August of 1985 in Andrews, Texas. Happy early birthday! Strange for a Texas-built unit to wind up in Wisconsin. Then again, I have an old pickup from a dealership in Dallas.

Right profile. Slight scratches in the metal are visible if you look closely at the brush roll nozzle.

A rear view of the vacuum. Standard Kirby affair here!

Left profile. Note the missing hubcap - I assume that happened before it got donated. No way it would have rattled loose in the back of my truck.

Cleaned up and happily at home, here's the Heritage II.

After raiding the toy bin of diecast cars - another one of my other hobbies - I go to the checkout and pay $11 and leave. Wait, what? $11? The vacuum was $15! Let's take a look at the receipt together, shall we? Yep, they only charged me for the cars. Free Kirby! Woohoo!

Kirby Heritage II 2-HD (Goodwill find)

Hello once again, everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while as life got in the way. I hope you'll join me for the story of how I got a Kirby Heritage II for free. It was a muggy Thursday afternoon. I had just picked up my truck from getting its AC system fixed and was riding high on high...

Dirt Devil Broom Vac (thrift store find)

View of the lean. It seems a bit useless because the motor housing will bash into your bed frame anyway. That's all for now! Tune in next time when the thaw happens for more on that Shop-Vac! "Peace and love." - Ringo Starr

View of the badge. And by the badge, I mean sticker. I do like the very '90s font. Let the bassline get ya!

It also came with replacement belts, which is good because it looked like the brush roll is connected to the motor via a lady's undergarment, so these are good to have.

Dirt Devil Broom Vac (thrift store find)

View of the underside of the Broom Vac. According to Husky, it was made in March 1992. Which is funny if you know him well. This vacuum is the 3-ampere 702 model. There was a 3.5-ampere 712 model available as well. I wonder if there was a 4-ampere 722 model. No, wait, that's an SLR McLaren model.
