    My thrift store score!

About 2 weeks ago I stopped at a local thrift store which is operated by several Lutheran churches in our area.  Stuck in a corner at the back of the store was a lonely looking rust colored Regina Electrik Broom.  I kind of buried it under some other things and went home and thought about it...

    Premier canister vac bag

Tom, Thank you for being so kind and patient with me and all of my questions.  Will stop at one of our vac shops tomorrow and let you know if I was successful in my search.  Again, many thanks!  Would the GE CN-1 size work?

What size bag would you suggest?

    Premier canister vac bag

The current cloth bag seems to be in very good condition given its age.  When I emptied it yesterday it didn't feel stiff or show any signs of dry rot.  There is a thin metal shaft with a round disc in the center of the bag chamber, how would I get a paper bag over/around this without cutting a...

    Premier canister vac bag

I recently rescued an ancient Premier canister vac from my grandmother's basement, and was wondering if the dust bag can possibly be gently laundered?  It has acquired quite a funky odor from sitting in the basement for so long with dirt in it.  I would also appreciate any info on where I might...

Just another Day in Sarnia/Port Huron

Thanks to Robert for allowing us to resurrect old threads such as this one.  This afternoon I rescued a Premier similar to the one Davey posted above only mine has the gray and maroon reversed.  This vacuum was my dad's parents first vacuum and was apparently purchased 2nd hand by them.  It has...

    Hoover Model 68 attachments.

I would like to purchase a set of attachments for my Hoover Model 68.  When I purchased it at an estate sale 3yrs ago, they said they didn't know what had happened to them over the years.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hoover 28

If I lived closer I'd bring my Hoover Model 68 to your "spa" for a beauty refresher. Scored it a couple of years ago at an estate sale for $5.00. Wish I had the attachments to go with it.

**Garage Sale Find** Hoover Dial A Matic

The DAM my mom & dad received as a wedding gift in 1967 was the exact same color with a chocolate colored hose, and attachments. It survived 20 years of hard use without a single repair until the motor shorted out and made it unrepairable. It served a 2-story house that also had 3 kids in it...

    Awesome POD 10/27/11

I love my Hoover Model 68 that I found last year at an estate sale for $5 w/ about 15-20 vintage bags to go with it. Now I'm on the hunt for the attachments. Wish me luck.

What is the most amount you've spent on a vintage vac?

I refuse to buy any Kirby product for the exact bait & switch mentioned above. I've come to absolutely detest any of their products because all of the dealers here in Wausau seem to be crooks! I also find them to be very pushy and rude.

    POD 09/11/11 Odd bird?

This vacuum appears periodically over at AW.org as part of an ad for Westinghouse home laundry equipment. It looks very unique, wouldn't mind trying one in person some time.
