Hoover Discontinuing the Venerable Self-Propelled Windtunnel

vacuumdevil... Very few, if any, current Hoover machines meet all of the things you listed. It was a $200 machine, not a $500 Miele. In my opinion, the self propelled Windtunnel was one of the last half-decent Hoover machines. No easy change bag? Seriously, how difficult is it to pull the...

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away worth it?

Many people seem to be completely unaware that there are vacuums that cost more than $400. I hate seeming those Dyson vs. Shark threads on Facebook, Dyson and Shark are almost equally crappy in my opinion. If someone is set on purchasing a bagless vacuum then I always steer them toward Shark, at...

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away worth it?

Hit or miss would definitely be the best way to describe their vacuums. I've heard good things about the "DuoClean" brushroll system.

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away worth it?

I have one of the powered lift away models and it's excellent for the price, Walmart sells it for $200 right now and I bought mine refurbished from Amazon for $80. Good suction, grooms carpet nicely, and the filters are easy to access and clean. My grandmother has one of their Rocket machines...

Bissell ANNA Vacuum.. Great in theory, but already discontinued

Here are some of my photos! Ths is my favorite machine for vacuuming out the cars, being cordless and having the lift off feature makes it super convenient. The fact that it matches the color scheme of one of my cars is just a plus :) I’m a fan of the attachments, they’re well-made and I think...

Want opinions on Filter Queens olz

That's a steal. I love my Majestic and Princess, they're both all-around great machines. I agree with Tom, just replace the circular pre motor disk and the cellulose cone with genuine replacements. The enviropure cone or biocone is unnecessary. I also replaced the foam filter batting in both of...

Bissell ANNA Vacuum.. Great in theory, but already discontinued

I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow! I'm happy with the cleaning performance, it seems to groom carpeting very nicely as well. I fear the battery will go bad if I don't use the machine, much like what happened to an old Roomba of mine. The pleated filter clogs relatively quickly with fine...

    Justify Miele Purchase

Patrick... If you do buy the cordless Hushtone then I'd love to see you make a separate thread about it! I've been eyeing it for a while now.

    Dirt Devil Breeze

I'm another collector with a soft spot for Dirt Devil, but I don't currently own any. I've had my eyes peeled for a Roommate for a while though. As for the Breeze, I used to have one. It was OK, it picked up dirt off the carpet and put it into the bin, so it was effective enough to serve its...

Are canister vacuums in terminal decline?

I'm a huge fan of canisters, I prefer them to uprights for day-to-day cleaning. It's a shame that they're not offered in big box stores, but there isn't much offered in big box stores that's worth buying anyways so it wouldn't mean much if they came back to stores like Walmart. Miele is...

Why am I fascinated with vacuum cleaners?

I almost mentioned the gay connection but it almost felt out of place in this thread so I left it out. I've always felt like there was a connection to my sexuality and my interest in vacuums. Everyone in my family knew I'd turn out to be gay; I never played with the "boy toys" that I had, when...

    Are cordless vacuums overrated?

Honestly, I think it's about time that we start seeing real cordless full size vacuums. If I can go drive an electric car 200 miles on one charge at interstate speeds then there's no reason we can't have full powered vacuum cleaners that happen to run off batteries. The technology for it is...

    Justify Miele Purchase

I absolutely love my Miele C2, it's an amazing machine. Quiet, great filtration, powerful, well designed. But I'm not sure how it would hold up in a commercial environment, plus consumables are quite pricey. $18 for four bags would certainly add up, plus it's likely that people in an office...

Bissell ANNA Vacuum.. Great in theory, but already discontinued

Aha... So I found a brand new Bissell Anna on eBay for under $200. Now you and I both have them! I'm quite impressed with the machine actually, I'd love to use it more frequently but I want to keep mine spotless just as yours is.

Why am I fascinated with vacuum cleaners?

I just avoid telling people about it unless it happens to come up, or if I have someone coming over to my house. I tend to warn people before they come over so they're not overwhelmed and confused when they see the vacuums lol. I honestly have no clue why I've always been obsessed with vacuum...

    What is your bag preference?

I almost always use cloth when I can. I try to primarily use my Miele and Filter Queens as daily drivers because of their excellent filtration. But if there's a cloth bag available for any of my other machines they I always try to buy a few.

Does anyone have a diy recipie for kirby shampoo?

This carpet shampoo works quite well, but it isn't very much cheaper than Kirby shampoo. Be careful to only use dry foam shampoo concentrates in the Kirby. I highly recommend the Rug Doctor or Bissell Big Green carpet cleaners that another reply mentioned. They're both excellent machines, I...

Vacuums Going to Storage for a While

Be careful if it isn't a climate controlled unit. I had some machines in a storage unit and they started growing mold on parts like rubber bumpers and hoses, even with those Damp Rid things in the unit.

    NIB Bissell Lift Off 3554

Is this the same guy who has them for sale on Amazon then? Why do you suggest going directly through him rather than Amazon? I've been very tempted to buy one of these since I noticed there were some for sale on Amazon... it would go very well with my Bissell Anna.

    Newer Filter Queen question

This one came out in 2011, definitely not the 90s. 2011 until at least 2013. I'm not sure when the current one came out and I haven't been able to find a more updated timeline than what's in the link I'm posting.
