    "Shark Attack"

Sharks clean well, they're cheap, they're relatively easy to maintain, they come with long warranties, and the company puts enough new ideas into their machines that people keep buying them. They're doing a great job from a business standpoint, as much as we want to hate them. I don't currently...

How's this for a bit of comedy

Someone will, if they posted it on eBay then I could easily see it going for over $500. It seems crazy to me, but then I remember the storage unit and attic space that I have full of vacuum cleaners and realize that we are all a little crazy. Live and let live, I suppose.

    Any Aerus News?

dysonman1... That is great news, I'm looking forward to seeing what is in store for them. As someone else mentioned, it would be awesome if they got the Electrolux name back and it would make sense since Electrolux Group has pulled out of the US vacuum market. Perhaps some arrangement could...

Which is better? Bagged or Bagless

MadMan... My boyfriend and I have four pets, bagless vacuums end up smelling like dog after using one for a while without washing out the bin and the filters very frequently. Meanwhile my bagged vacuums can be deodorized in seconds by changing the bag. No poof of dust, I don't know of any...

    Fantom Thunderbolt

That model was sold at least in 2004, https://newspaperarchive.com/cedar-rapids-gazette-apr-25-2004-p-312/

    Fantom Thunderbolt

Lesinutah, it is a bit newer than that. This is one of the Euro-Pro Fantoms, not one of the originals. Countryguy, a photo of the ratings plate might make it easier to date the machine.

Which is better? Bagged or Bagless

Bagged all the way. I am so sorry for your loss. Bagless vacuums are generally less convenient to use than bagged machines, and it is more difficult for a manufacturer to make a good bagless machine than it is for them to make a good bagged machine. Both of the machines that you inherited will...

    Any Aerus News?

dysonman1... I agree that selling the quality of the machine is the way to do it, but as @human mentioned there is the issue of competing with vintage models of the same brand. With so little changes being made to the machines themselves, there's little need for most consumers to ever replace...

    Any Aerus News?

electromatik... Yep, selling the Electrolux name ruined them. It was around that time that they were selling a couple of machines on HSN, I think that could have helped their sales if they kept developing machines if only they stuck with the Electrolux name. Consumers aren't buying $1000+...

    Bissell Customer Service FAIL

Sorry for double posting, but I thought of more... "A representative named Richard got back to me within an hour, and he apologized that the "upper cord clip" broke, and understood my frustration with having part of my machine broken. Noting that the vacuum has a 5-year warranty, he had already...

    Bissell Customer Service FAIL

I'm surprised that only one person has called you out for overreacting. I think the customer service representative made an honest mistake and would likely gladly order the correct part for you once the misunderstanding is cleared up. In fact, I am surprised that they are willing to cover it...

    Any Aerus News?

Nice to see you post! I noticed your YouTube videos were all taken down. There was a similar post recently, it looks like there is still a site up for their floor care products but they don't seem to be doing all that great. http://www.aerusvacuums.com/Site/FloorCare I have also noticed some...

    Pathetic Wal-Mart vacuum

https://www.walmart.com/ip/BISSELL-PowerForce-Compact-Bagless-Vacuum-2112-new-version-of-1520/123025309 $39 and change, and I'm certain I've seen them for sale for even less. Not too terribly far off from $28, and it probably cleans better than the Easy Vac did.

    What's the point?

I've seen lots of Roomba knock offs, as answered earlier, the point is just to make money. With regards to robot vacs in general, my Samsung Powerbot actually works pretty well. I have two cats and a dog, so it helps keep the carpets looking a bit cleaner than they otherwise would in between...

    Favorite Vacuum for attachment use

Either a central vacuum or my Sebo C3. I prefer the Sebo handle to the one Miele uses, it's smaller and feels more comfortable to me. It's also nice to have suction control on the handle, my Miele C2 only has the switch for the power nozzle on the handle. The Sebo also has decent attachments...

    Worst hose you've ever used

The first one that comes to mind for me is the Hoover Air Cordless. Short and awkwardly positioned. The latch that needs to be released in order to release the hose is very difficult to reach.

    Home Fire!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, I can't imagine how scary of a situation that must be. I'm happy to hear your smoke alarms and security system did their job to get you guys out safe though, it serves as a good reminder to all of us to test our own smoke alarms. I hope the rebuild process...

Opinions on the new RICCAR R25 D and 25p?!

I think they look interesting, but I wouldn't buy a new one. I'd snatch one up for a good price used I suppose. Their quality is disappointing to me, and I don't appreciate the shady claim about their machines being "assembled" in the US. I have a cordless Simplicity Freedom that I adore for...

    My vacuum collection is "gone"

"Also, for those of you with significant others, how did they feel when they found out you had so many machines?" I haven't dated anyone who really had much to say about it. Almost every guy I've dated in the last few years has ended up with a new vacuum, so they can't complain too much lol. I...

    Beam 2900 central vac

I don't have any information about when this model came out or how powerful it is, but it was likely manufactured by Electrolux. I used to have a similar Electrolux made machine that was branded as a Honeywell unit. If you don't already have a central vac then hell yeah you should install it...
