    Hoover 725 Restoration Advice

Howdy There's a lot of restoration information on vacuumland over the years on Hoover coffee can vacuums. They have many differences but the cleanup process is the same. i guess it comes down to cleaning up to be functional and reliable, or make it a museum piece, or.... something in between...

What does the general public notice - take a guess

It's like having the name "Smith" Wisconsin has a large population of Norwegians. The name "Knutson" is as common in Oslo, Norway as "Smith" is in the US. Sorry. No Ross in my known relative base.

What does the general public notice - take a guess

Don't drop off your vacuums please. If someone wants to dump a vacuum, I ask them to donate it to Goodwill or St Vincent de Paul stores. I regularly visit those stores and sometimes get a call from them about a pile of new vacs. It's hard to pass on a Heritage II with a bunch of tools for...

What does the general public notice - take a guess

We have a winner! Yup. The Kirby is immediately recognized. Everyone had some story about a mother, grandmother, aunt, or personal experience having owned one. Most also believed that was a heavy vacuum. I asked them to. lift it and roll on the floor. Those that did were pleasantly...

What does the general public notice - take a guess

I am slowly assembling a vacuum collection in my college office. Really interesting - which pieces are noticed, and which are ignored when I have visitors. Wide range of people from my staff, salesmen, peers, and organization leadership. I always tell new visitors that I am a vacuum collector...

    eBay's OUTRAGEOUS fees!

Don't forget "letgo" That's pretty useless. EBay is like gambling. If you go in expecting to have a big haul, that's a bad plan. If you set a certain expect a reasonable return on your time and effort, that's probably a bad idea. If you go in with a "it's free money" expectation, that's a...

    Wheel for vacuum cleaner

This wheel may fit a bunch of very old hoovers I usually order odds and ends parts (lawnmower and appliance) through www.repairclinic.com. They have a sort of scale picture of that wheel - showing it to be about 1-3/4 inches in diameter. I wonder what the width is. Coffee can hoovers have...

Chance of a lifetime if "The Price is Right"

Two many So...uh...does that mean that the "in the way, one too many" Vacuette may be available? My office needs a vacuette to join the Bissell Grand Rapids and Reeves pump vacuum.

Chance of a lifetime if "The Price is Right"

The Vacuette Tom's at the Vacuum museum is pretty cool. It doesn't really matter if it sucks much out of the carpet. It's a unique bridge between plain sweepers and electric vacuums.

Hoover "coffee can" type for sale

I learned something today! I had to Google "Jackson Polloch", as I had no idea who he was. Huh. Interesting stuff. Artwork is unique and personal. It's got to be hard to place a value on his work.

Paging Dr. Gasko! Paging Dr. Gasko!!

Let me rephrase I have a Eureka vacuum that needs to go. I picked it up for free from Tom at the Vacuum museum event. I'm willing to sell it for $175.00. Pick up only. If not sold by Saturday, I will post a video of it being smashed with a sledgehammer. Yup. That should clarify my point.

Paging Dr. Gasko! Paging Dr. Gasko!!

Seriously? I am confused. You bought a cobbled together head that languished on EBay for $10.00. Now you hold it hostage for $75.00 plus shipping or you will throw it away. Why not offer it for what you have into it or just donate plus the cost of shipping? I do not like to make replies...

Hoover "coffee can" type for sale

It's worth $20 - $25 tops Model 725. Lots of them out there. I bought mine in February for $25. The seller drove more than 50 miles to deliver at that price. That model with the polished coffee can motor and orange stripe are nice looking.
