    Silver King Blue Max!!!

The only thing I'm not pleased with is the wand set up.  It feels very awkward and seems too short for my arms.  [this post was last edited: 11/7/2014-19:34]

    Silver King Blue Max!!!

So I decided to take the wire off the Douglas PN and install it on this Eureka PN with the VGIII brush roll.  Now this vacuum beast has because a MEGA beast!

    Silver King Blue Max!!!

So I thought about adding this Rainbow PN to it, since they both use a three wire cord.  But alas, the PN cord is too short to reach the receptacle on the hose.   [this post was last edited: 11/7/2014-19:33]

    Silver King Blue Max!!!

The only accessory it came with is the original Douglas power nozzle.  I wasn't very pleased with it (probably because I like everything turbocharged!).  [this post was last edited: 11/7/2014-16:02]

    Silver King Blue Max!!!

I've been wanting one of these for a while and finally found one at a fairly reasonable price!  The suction and airflow are quite impressive!

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

@ Brian Thank for pointing out that the name plate is removable!  I hadn't yet noticed that.  Now, I'll need to find an original accessory hose!

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

The only other minor issue is this switch screw.  I have the screw, but threads are messed up.  I'll to fix that too.

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

The Tools!!! I'm really excited that it came with all the tools too!    It will be interesting to see how this 3.5 amp motor works with the hose and tools.

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

The only issue is the brush roll.  It's making a lot of noise, so I'm guessing the problem with this end cap.  I'll have to address that soon.  Other than that, the motor purrs like a kitten.

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

It has the tried and true 3.5 amp two speed motor.  This is the first two speed Eureka that I've ever owned.  Can someone tell which is the normal operational speed? Hi or Low?

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

I really don't know the age of the vacuum but I'm guessing that it was made in the late 60s or early 70s.  I'm not sure, but the bag appears to be a replacement from the 80s or 90s.  I think the cord is a replacement as well.

    Eureka 271 Upright!!!

I'm always happy to acquire a new vacuum to play with, but I'm really EXCITED about this recent Ebay purchase.  There was only one other bidder besides me, so my apologies to any club member if I was bidding against you!    For its age, it is in excellent cosmetic shape too!

    Silver King Question

Thanks for the information!  I've thought through this scenario:  One is to remove the three pin lead wire from the old Silver King PN and install it on a different PN.  The other is to try and find an adapter that will convert a 3 pin cord to a 2 pin cord.  I once had one of those that was made...
