Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

Exactly Jmurray01, that is the point I'm trying to get at. People still buy 'Hovers' because of their history. I would say Hoover died when they split from Hoover US then the final nail in the coffin came when production moved to China. Does anyone know exactly when production moved to China?

Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

It must be the people who live here, they tend to buy Vacuums from the Supermarkets, in which most of them are Hoover. They're not very well built but get good reviews, hence why the Sprint is popular. That one isn't very well built & the tool cheapness is a bad let down. I do also wish that...

    Dyson DC40 Mis-aligned handle structure

Hoover still do that now IMO - on the Argos Hoover Shop it states that 'Every Hoover Product has over 100 years Cleaning Experience inside'.

Hoover branded machines sold in Dubai

Not sure who owns Hoover Australia. Their machines look to be a mix of Russell Hobbs / Hoover UK/Europe & others from an other origin.

Hoover branded machines sold in Dubai

And much to the expense of the Company Name. That's why I won't buy a Vax, I don't want to have the hassle of sending it back if something goes wrong. That's why I'd rather buy from Hoover UK for medium range products, they never seem to have as many reliability problems. Ok, Hoover UK are not...

Hoover branded machines sold in Dubai

I think most Vax machines (apart from the Air which Vax have stated is their own design) are made by TTi & are placed under different names for different countries. For example, the Zen is also sold under the Hoover name in the US, also, but in Australia it is sold under the Vax name. Some...

Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

I generally find Hoover products not so 'toy-box' looking as Vax machines do. But the Unplugged has a motor powered brushroll - similar to the Vax LiFE Unplugged, but the Hoover Unplugged is more powerful.

Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

They have launched some good ones recently IMO. I want the Unplugged.

Do you think Hoover have quite a 'hold' on the market due the brands Longlivety & History?

Whenever I help someone choose a new Vacuum Cleaner, most of the time they always end up going for a Hoover one, because of Hoover's history in the UK & many associate the name with the Uprights their Parents had. It also happens when I sell Vacuum's at a Car Boot also, people go for the...

The new Numatics - the spec

Like the Telios you mean? I do agree I find the machine looks less cluttered when tools store in the body of the cleaner as opposed to 3 on a tool holder put on the hose or extension tube.

The new Numatics - the spec

I like the Athos too. The Nanopack system looks good.

The new Numatics - the spec

Also, Hoover's Athos is around 2400w & 2500w, but they have an Eco 1000 watt version. They will probably launch that in the UK & lower the wattages of the Telios & Enigma models.

The new Numatics - the spec

Henry did fine with the 850w motors they started out with, slowly over the years they've creeped up but that has shown to be unnecessary obviously!

Do you think we will see the end of most of the Vax Uprights (Power Range) from Sept this year?

There are a lot of them, & they mostly have motor wattages consisting of 1800w-2300w. Do you think once September comes & the new law is in, that we will see an end to the Power Range of Machines that Vax produce?

Is the universe telling me to stop buying vacuum cleaners?

The Panasonic Bagged Uprights worked perfectly well with a 1500w motor. Heaven knows why they needed upgrading to the noisy & vibrating 1900w & 2000w motors.

Is the universe telling me to stop buying vacuum cleaners?

Exactly madaboutsebo, Bag filtration has got much better in recent years due to fabric bags & multi-layers inside the bag to trap the dust inside. I hope Vax launch a bagged model. I doubt they will but I hope they do. Hoover UK have only released the Athos (mentiones earlier) but when I asked...

Is the universe telling me to stop buying vacuum cleaners?

On their FB page someone enquired about it & were told by Hoover to 'wait & see' so they obviously have something lined up.

Is the universe telling me to stop buying vacuum cleaners?

Nice to see you back Steve! :D I think Vax aren't just bothered about sensotronics video because you only have to look on their Facebook page to see the amount of bad comments they get. I prefer Hoover myself if I had to choose a 'middle' brand. Yes Hoover can be crap machines & they do...

Is the universe telling me to stop buying vacuum cleaners?

At least that was dealt with swiftly. Vax once sent me two wash heads for my 6131 when the original one broke after one use. I thought that was quite generous of them. However, due to the number of reliability problems Vax face, I have been put off purchasing one. I wonder how good the...
