Can anyone tell me what kind of vacuum this is?

I agree Cole, I was thinking Toshiba also. I had one that had a similar hose with the on/off handle on the hose. Very innovative for it's time, as it was quite a few years ago. It was actually a very decent vacuum.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

I've alway heard that as well. I have two friends who are cops and they both told me the same thing!

Looking for a possible new carpet cleaner

If you're talking about accidents in a localized area, maybe something like the Bissel Little Green machine might work for you, very easy to use. If you're talking about rooms of wall-to-wall carpet, the least expensive Hoover is what my friends who own a vac shop recommends, simple to use and...

    Sanitaire commercial

That's a great model due the uniqueness of the handle/switch. I had one at one time but in a weak moment flipped it. I put it on consignment and was gone in less than a week for a tidy sum.

    Troy portable vac

I remember those being available when I was a kid and I'm old! I want to say early 60's? One giveaway is the address for Tuckahoe does not show a zip code. Zip codes started in 1963.

I found a book written by Mr. Stan Kann

WTF... Did I miss something here? Did someone's feathers get ruffled? What is all this "exclusive rights" convo about?

My 1st True Classic Deluxe Convertible!!!!

Filigree? I have that model as well, nice machine, and you did a good job cleaning it up! I think it was the collector I received it from that told me the design on the bag was called fleur-de-lis. French I suppose..lol. Pronounced fler-de-lee. Not nit picking here, just passing some info...

    ISO a Oreck xl

Craigslist Orecks? Did you go look at the ones in your other post that were 50.00 a piece? That's a very reasonable price for an Oreck. I know when I flip an Oreck, it's in top notch shape and don't sell for less that 75.00, more than that if it's an XL21.

Attack of the FrankenKirby!! - for entertainment

Classic Jr. A few years ago I had an extra 516 and I decided to turn it into a Classic Jr. At that time I was able to get the newer wider Wheels and the bumper trim and the belt lifter in a nice brown color. I took it out to my friend's vacuum shop and they buffed it out and went all through...

    Robert...I have a question.

At what point/age is a poster/member directed to be in the Junior forum? Btw, I am biting my tongue here...

I don’t know which one to chose from!

I would go with the black one in front, could be the newest of the lot. That's a two-speed Ultra, low for bare floors, high for carpet. If you go to see them in person, check the brushroll, inside of the cloth bag, and cord for any issues. Orecks have always had a niche for people who appreciate...

    Tina! Clean the grout!

This was so cute I had to share it! I gave a girl friend of mine from work an Olympia one because she didn't own a canister vacuum, and she absolutely loves it. She doesn't know how she did without one. Her youngest daughter Jersey absolutely loves it too. She's become a little vacuum Maiden!

The "Cream" of 1982. With hints of hot fudge, and racing stripes!!

That's a sporty looking vacuum! I have the brandywine Eureka version, wanna trade? Just kidding, that one's just too special!

    Nice Royal Pony

I didn't even notice that Phillip...Mom's didn't have that. That's a helluva place for a power nozzle receptacle, maybe after market? Her cord setup wasn't that way either...hmmm.

    filter queen questions

I had that model at one time and still think it's the most attractive FQ in their history, but that's just me. Like my Princess III, only use it for bare floors/above floor cleaning. That chrome power head is beautiful to look at, but is really lackluster on performance, like most FQ power...

    Nice Royal Pony

I saw this and should be in the hands of a collector. These are great little machines, and it's complete. I would re-do the cord setup, mine wasn't like that. I bought one of these used for my Mom and she loved it, and bags/filters are still available. I don't know or am I affiliated with the...
