what belt does my ardvac take

Should be the same as the Oreck brush vac. There is also a Douglass and Kirby variant of this cleaner. That should give you a place to start looking.

I got this given to me

Interesting cleaner. I bet it will clean up great. I actually thought it would be a lightweight machine. Dave, I think an you can get a definitive answer about the tool placement. The machine has labels, unlike many modern cleaners, which should answer part of your question. Now, what does it...

    Royal Tank Vacuum Part Needed

I doubt Royal would have what you need at this point. You could probably rig something up. The assembley is really nothing special. Its really just a bent piece of metal with fasteners and simple wheels.

    New Royal Plastic Canisters

Its really too bad it has a design flaw like the hose, especially when it seems it could be see easy to fix. It looks like a machine with real potential, but I guess they have no real replacement for the classic Power Tank.

    New Royal Plastic Canisters

Has anyone had experience with the new Royal plastic canisters. I was just looking around ebay and took a look at one. It was a model 3050 full size canister. It was fairly attractive with variable speed control, bag check indicator, concealed tool storage, and hepa filtration. The PN also looks...

    ROYAL METAL MOTOR?....HELP ME PLEASE

I'd guess it would be annoyingly loud from what many people say. It also sounds like monster vac potential too. I'd try to make good use of it.

    Old hoover cloth bag info?

It might be a tad late for an answer, but better late than never. They were made of a sort of silky material. Chemically treated I think. The old style ones were on the short side compared to newer ones. I also have a later style bag that is spreader style, and it is a regular height. If your...

    Wanted: elite 600

I think your thinking of the Elite II. Similar color (depending on variant) to the 600 posted above, but in most aspects it was quite different. I also remember a bunch of Hoovers with the tools on the side other than the elite.

    New Kirby...???

Yeah, I missed that one. If you look through a lot of his ideas, many are quite strange. Its been a while since I looked at them, but I recall some strange methods of implementing the motor driven brush roll, including an exhaust powered turbo nozzle.

    New Kirby...???

This is the clean air Kirby from google patents. This was 60 years ago in 1949. Clearly, it needs some refinement, but its quite doable...

    New Kirby...???

Well, I said I would not comment on what my issues are, but I changed my mind. For starts, I'd trade a bunch of plastic if they would just get rid of the self propelled set up. Its just another area prone to failure. I don't know about anyone else, but I just seem to see them on ebay with...

    New Kirby...???

While they may not call it the G10, I'd guess thats what its going to be. They have not had a major overhaul since the G3, which was back in 1993, if I recall correctly, and I don't really have my hopes up for anything really different. There are a bunch of things I think they need to work on...

    Garage Sale Finds.

I like the model Gs. I'm actually thinking about getting one for my college dorm in the fall. Quiet, classy, and still functional. Those Eurekas are nice too. I've got one of those with a tank on the back, but the base is extremely rusty. I seem to be seeing more of those online lately, but they...

    Garbage Finds.

Its been a long time since I've seen an old hoover steamvac. Could you post a few pictures, and a review of its performance if you decide to use it? That eureka bag looks like garden hose material. I'd take it off, turn it wrong side out, take it outside and blast the crud out of it. It should...

    Royal Power Tank Wand

Missed the link. Here it is: http://www.totalvac.com/accessory/parts/FQ-9681-3ES.html

    Royal Power Tank Wand

Yeah, it exists, but it might not be easy to find. I think the filter queen equivelent is in the link. Yes, it is expensive. the newer Royals had those kind of brushes too, so you could find a used one at some point. The lower wand is just the standard lower wand that would have come with any...

    Royal Power Tank Wand

Oh, now I see. What you need is either a lower curved extension, or a Royal bare floor brush with a swivel.

    Royal Power Tank Wand

I see. I am aware of those, but I was expecting a power tank to be equipped with a floor brush like the one included with the vacuum in the link. Obviously, the machine in the link is a fair bit newer, but you get to see what I'm referring to. Anyway, I think if you add a lower wand to what you...
