    1911 Central vacuum system help

Yeah, we'd have to see pictures and a plan lay out to see where the inlets are in your home. The easiess way to try it out would be to take a standard vacuum and stick the hose into one of the inlets, turn on the vacs, and go around to other inlets and see if you can feel or hear anything in...

    I fixed my central A/C!

I don't know your house size, needs, etc.     You can get mini-split systems on ebay.  Depending on how handy you are you may be able to install yourself.     I've tried these mini splits a couple of times and they are really efficient and quiet.

It looks like you have the right idea.     What did you crimp that with?  There is a special tool for crimping.

Building a Top Fill Central Vacuum out of old CV

I haven't done anything with it for a couple of weeks.  Next I need to attached those plates and finish painting.  Then the fun parts.

    Electrolux Regency Series?

It looks like it's got a newer hose and I don't see damages.   The lighting is not good so......not the vacuums fault.   It's got the orig. cord and plug, that's encouraging.     Are you on the fence again?  "OH-h that L-o-n-g 1 hour trek to Princeton.  I'll probably have to drive...

Covid-19: Are your local vac shops open?

There are fewer and fewer dedicated vacuum stores each year it seems.  People buying online and buying throw aways.   I wonder how many more shops won't survive this virus attack.

    I fixed my central A/C!

ummm, I hope you realize that burned wires is not normal.      Good for you for fixing this problem yourself, but.....   Do you have a window AC as a back up for when this baby finally catches fire?  .....and a fire extinguisher.     I wouldn't leave the house with that thing...

    Silverado hose help

"...After that, the sickness set in;"   Yes Vacland and AW.org have facilitated and provided a breeding ground for those deprived, degenerates, like us, who would take pleasure in repairing, collecting, and obsessing over appliances.   At times in histories past the likes of us would be...

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

But the Kirby was more effective than her straight suction Nutone Central vacuum with no power nozzle.  I know they did have a turbine brush but...... we know those are so limited.  As soon as you set it on the shag it would stop.    I don't know who did this video. They did a nice job of...

    The Vac Shop (Elizabethton, TN)

If the person started emailing everyone in the group or posting daily, it would be time to limit their abilities and ask a few more questions of their true motivations.   Your response means you've been paying attention to all posts, which is good and attentive.     People when they...

    Aerus/Electrolux question

I remember when I bought a brand new Ultralux Classic in 1993 from the Electrolux dealer.     I paid about $600 for it.  When I was buying I asked about the horse power, which at that time was the way most vacuums were rated, especially at Sears.  I was used to the idea of 4.1 h.p. which is...

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

True and Electrolux Golden Jubilee, for example, can do step carpet.  .... or walls...... even some upholstery.  Kirby or any upright can't do that.   I don't even know how that Kirby rake thing is supposed to work.  My aunt had an Kirby with the snap on rake back in the 70s to vacuum her...

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

Yeah, like the carpet in #3, I wouldn't even want to try putting my Wessel-werks EBK-360 or really ANY power nozzle on that.     The only thing I could think might work (if it were on a floor) would have been a Kirby, but I have no idea how.   Even adjustable power nozzles of the time...

    The Vac Shop (Elizabethton, TN)

That store is like a vacuum cleaner heaven from what I've seen.   Someone should film a vacuum based movie there.

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

For those of us who love our vacuums, it would seem a shame to waste them on some sparsely decorated, ceramic tiled echo chamber, wouldn't it?

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

Even central vacuums, which are certainly superior today in terms of suction and expelling dust and odors outdoors, back then many did not have the best suction nor did they have power nozzles. [this post was last edited: 5/30/2020-06:58]

How much carpet, upholstery, and draperies can YOUR vacuum handle?

Kirby was in it's heydey.  When equipped with a snap on shag rake, it could handle the floor, though it had nothing of the walls or stairs.
