    Filter Queen / Heartland Health Systems . . .

@gsheen . . . Your opinion sounds fine to me. There's all manner of things to be considered in the cost of putting a product together including the man hours paid to get it on and off the line. But I'm not so much debating cost as I am sales tactics. It's unthinkable to me that I'd allow...

    Filter Queen / Heartland Health Systems . . .

@trebor . . . I in no way claim all salespeople are cut from the same cloth and I've certainly no problem with anyone trying to do anything to earn an honest living. However, stories of salespeople appearing at homes, refusing to leave and badgering people to buy are nowhere new. They...

    Filter Queen / Heartland Health Systems . . .

Price gouging . . . Actual cost of manufacture for a D-T-D brand is no where near what consumers are being asked to pay other end of the line. Beyond the cost of making and shipping, the bucks you finally shell out cover the distributor's mark-up and then the vendor's. D-T-D industry sounds a...

Is lower power ever an advantage?

My favorite backpack vac . . . . For backpack vacs Nilfisk's Back-uum was quite good. Because of its design -- motor at the bottom, bag chamber up top and flexible connection between -- it was able to conform if you bent or reached. Though not large, the problem I had with mine was that the...

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@Davinator . . . Thanks for the video. I didn't know the water pan on this model had two pieces. I'd thought the top piece was part of the motor unit. What's clean up after use like. By the way, does does this use a by-pass (separately cooled motor)?

    Filter Queen / Heartland Health Systems . . .

I got a news alert for the first time ever regarding Filter Queen. The manufacturer of Filter Queen is still Health-Mor isn't it. I have no idea who Heartland Health Systems is but it's upset a sheriff in Omaha. Article follows. http://www.newspressnow.com/localnews/30630256/detail.html

    Makes you wonder . . .

Now here's suction power. You've probably seen this before but if this kid can get that much out a vacuum cleaner, why can't the average consumer?

Is lower power ever an advantage?

Depends on how you look at it . . . Funny, there's always questions as to power but not many regarding practicality. Nonetheless, if we're speaking of "regular-sized' household vacuums, the issue as to what's better still and will remain up for grabs. There appear to be two camps. One camp...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

@deluxewolf . . . Whoops! My apologies. Associating the model number with Kirby was my dumb thing to do for the day, I guess. I'll now go off to see if I can do something even sillier to top it. In any event, good luck with getting it sorted out. Venson

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@vacuumfan96 . . . Wow! You work fast. It's a cool idea and very impressive that you put it together and got a demo of it online in such short order. That's the kind of stuff that would take me 'til Xmas 2015 to finish. Keep up the good work. Just curious -- what's the water level in the...

    LUX suction

@elux89 . . . Hi, How are you? Thank you much for the kind sentiment. Carmine, is out west with wife and family living quite the life I understand. It's been a couple of months since I last touched base but, per the best of my knowledge, he's well and having a great time. Venson

    Damaged 560 report/questions

@deluxewolf . . . Hi, Sorry to hear your bad news. eBay and I usually have done quite well together. One question -- does any of the damage appear to have possibly come about while it was being shipped? However make note that if someone ships a Kirby with handle and/or rug head in place...

    LUX suction

@Real1 "I know it's not the best method, but I even pulled off the hoses and just put the palm of my hand against the suction end of the machines for comparison." Hi, With the 1205 and G that's not a great way to test pull because the 1205 has the slots inside the suction port to allow for...

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@Davinator . . . Hi, I didn't really forget the Thermax, just decided to pass albeit there is the newer model. I don't see it as a "daily driver" as some of you say. (And I figured someone else would fill in the gaps as it were.) I passed on Hyla's GST as well since I couldn't find a...

    LUX suction

@Real1 Hi Kevin, If my recall is correct -- and it may not be -- the 1205 had the same wattage draw as the Model G -- 535 watts. Nonetheless, the lower wattage draw in general is what wins my praise for the older Electrolux machines. They were designed -- machines and cleaning tools -- to...

Electrolux Cannister Model 1453 with all attachments

Can't do day and hour but . . . It has the very same power nozzle -- color and all -- that came with my Electrolux Silverado, purchased in the very early '80's. A rather nice rise to style for one of Lux's non-automatic models.

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@Davinator . . . Rotho apparently is yet another vendor looking to be all things to all people. They now have two models. One of which, possibly both, now accommodate a "bag box" if water filtration is not your thing. http://www.rothovac.com/index.html
