I just love that colour scheme

    NZ Electrolux machines

I have seen a few different husqvarna's. There may be more though. I have seen a red q26k0 with no onboard tools or suction control, just the most basic machine possible. There is my one that has a two speed motor and on-board tools. I have seen a dark green one with a turbo button and a suction...

    Godfrey's refurbished machines

Godfrey's used to fix, repair and refurbish vacuums before selling them on. I have seen a few ads showing these and their prices. I quite like the idea of selling refurbished vacuums. I thought I would share some ads with you. I will add some price lists from what was pictured. 2002...

Best and worst aftermarket brand of bags?

I usually use new-old stock bags where possible. For example if I see bags for something older in an op-shop I will buy them.

    Hoover breeze

We got a Hoover turbo power junior with on-board tools called the breeze. Here is an ad.

    Pick your poison: Main equivalency!

If I can get parts for a reasonable cost I am alright with it. For a Dyson V10 replacing all the common wear parts (battery, filter, motor, brush roll and contacts in the wand is just over $400 (nzd). replacing the wear parts on an old Electrolux (hose, motor, floor tool and bag) costs less than...

Coming Out Of The Vacuum Closet

I hope your journey into vacuum collecting goes smoothly. I must say that I am still in middle school so I am quite young for a vacuum collector. I can still remember the days of not wanting to tell my new classmates what my hobby was or not wanting to go about telling people about my vacuum hobby.

I hadn't noticed that cord winder. Lovely chrome finish! We only got cord winders in NZ in the late 70s/ late 80s.

ULTRA RARE 1989 Kirby Generation 3 Field Test Unit

Oh how I wish to get a machine like that. Those black tools are most interesting.

    Royal Lux D770

I am getting another 775 ( that was the model of my first one). I got rid of my first one as the motor started to sound horrible. I got the first one from a worker at the recycling center. This one is from someone on Facebook.

Thoughts on the Sebo Balance A1 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner?

My electrolux z25 from over 90 years ago works just like new without any repairs. Also part of my opinion of Dyson is because I see a new batch of 20 or so broken dyson's on our version of ebay every week. I see the occasional Miele that is broken though nothing like the dyson's.

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

I apologize for not explaining the testing process well enough. I will write it out as clearly as I can. 1. weigh the carpet, bin or bag and the dirt. write down these numbers. 2. add x amount of x material onto the carpet as evenly as possible. 3. use your chosen method of measuring movement...

    Dyson Piston

I wonder if it would be possible to make something like a old Electrolux machine with a battery pack and a 36-72 volt 5.7 inch motor. It could have up to 1.5 hour run times across 2 batteries. Enough money and anything is possible I suppose.

    Wanting to Test Vacuums

I would suggest that you get a few different types of carpet. These being solution dyed nylon, loop pile wool, mohawk plush and then a two pile height plush rug to finish off a set of testing rugs. Make sure they are at least 4x4 feet though not too much larger so as to allow for weighing the...

That looks like a modern version of the dc12. I have attached an image of a dc12

Thoughts on The Lindhaus Healthcare Pro 14in

I have never had experience with lindhaus machines as we never got them over here, HOWEVER I do have two of the dozen or so stealth heads that were imported by Kiwivac. I think that the p 14th is great except for that it is just too wide for our small homes. For reference a typical New...

    NZ Electrolux machines

My 1986 electrolux d720 has a ze3 that matches it? Does this mean it was tested in NZ? I have a new electrolux. It is a 1934 electrolux z25 with almost everything present. I just need a sprayer and a 14-inch floor brush. Here are some photos. Here is an old ad showing a volta red...

    Kirby Legend 2

    What is your favourite kirby

I have three G5's. (Although I have to wait 10 weeks before I can look at one). One of the other two has a bpi and one does not. Maybe there was complaints?
