Modern Vac / Arus-Lux knock off?

Are they still available? I have a Viking 748 (?) and would like a source of bags. John

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Thanks, Brian. I do want both. Funny, the Aerus manager has sold out of all Platinum machines in two weeks. They must be catching on! John

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Decisions, decisions I am in the mood to buy a new vacuum and am stuck between an Aerus Platinum and a Rainbow E2. (Yeah, Rob, I still haven't bought a new E2!) They are two different beasts with pros and cons and this makes the decision tough. I've looked at both and can get a good deal on...

Jimmy, I would like to come up this weekend, I'll see if I can break away from life for a few hours.

    too many VACS--who wants what??

Sounds good, Hans. Some weekend after Father's Day would be best

    too many VACS--who wants what??

Hmmm, never tried it as a doorstop, seems like it would do better as a boat anchor... But darn it, I like it too much to do that! John

    too many VACS--who wants what??

Jimmy, Do you have a Hoover Electronic 1000 hose, power nozzle, or machine? Or any non-abused 2 speed Rainbows?

Beautiful Eureka "canned ham" on ebay

That's Hinckley, Ohio I believe i bought a vacuum from the seller years ago, she is a good ebayer. That model of Eureka has insanely powerful suction!

Someone got a beautiful XXX for what I'd say is a very good price!

Those hoses still hold air better than others by Elux!

"New Generation " Rainbow Just Arrived

I made a visit to the Rainbow shop today And I'm very impressed with the new machine. Bummer though that the owner was not there. The man who was there gave me some info but it was a new machine to him. Unfortunately, all E2 blue machines are sold! There goes my big idea for a bargain. The...

"New Generation " Rainbow Just Arrived

That's a thought! If time allows tomorrow, I'll visit the distributor and ask. As far as I can tell the two power units are virtually the same.

"New Generation " Rainbow Just Arrived

Rob and other Rainbow owners Is the new machine so different in performance from the blue E2 12 that buying the new one is "no brainer?" I am thinking the distributor may offer a better deal on the previous model to eliminate stock. John

Trip to old vacuum capitol of the world!

Hey Hans, if you put a gathering together, let me know. It's been years since I've been to Elizabethton and it would be great to see old friends. John

    Electrolux Model CB

CA motor Charles, I'm getting in on this late, but I wanted to mention that the motor in the CA is NOT the same as in the G. Somewhere in my early days of digital photography I snapped a picture of a motor from the CA and G side by side. It must be gone in a computer crash - I can't locate it...

    Electrolux straight suction rug tools..1930-1955

Hans, the model 20 rug tool is more like the 12 tool, and the floor tool is low tech gray wrinkle finish deal. Electrolux kept it primitive for that model. That's a nice display of tools you have! John

    Stihl SE 122 Shop Vacuum

It looks llike an Alto Attix 8. If it is made by Alto it will be good. I bought an Attix 12 5 years ago, and it is an indestructible workhorse, not that I would abuse it, mind you. They're good German engineering.

The first Power Nozzles - History, Queries and Suppositions.

IIRC, former member Clay Floyd had an internal wire electric hose for the Electrolux Model G. There was a pigtail at the machine end and a pistol grip. The hose color was the usual G colors but there was an additional red tracer. I still do not know if that was a limited run genuine...

What is your favorite Rainbow copy?

I THOUGHT I read to change the water every 30 minutes in the manual but it's not in there today. Maybe I saw it online when researching the D4 SE. Maybe I am entering dementia. 20-30 minutes seems like a good time frame to shoot for. I understand about walking in to vacuum stores and walking out...

What is your favorite Rainbow copy?

Thanks Mark. The manual suggests changing the water every 30 minutes so that is what I did. It's somewhat inconvenient, but I wasn't put off by it. Airflow is great - that really impresses me. It picked up anything on the floor, including pennies. The power nozzle seems good, but the belt is...
