    Mother's Mags Polish?

I've had good results with Ma's. Be sure to use a little bit at a time, and a lot of elbow grease, and the results will really surprise you. I'll probably get into trouble for saying this, but I found that a little 0000 steel wool will smoothen out those furniture nicks and scratches (they...

    I was wondering...

Thanks for all of the wonderful info! This Vacuette is special to me, as I remember being allowed to play with it in the upstairs storage room at my grandmother's. It is also special because I know that as farmers, my grandparents weren't rolling in dough (though my grandmother always told me...

    I was wondering...

Punxsutawney is in the west central part of the state, or western part of the state (as many claim around here). I'm 32 miles north-east of Indiana, PA and 16 miles south of DuBois, and Interstate 80. In a way, I am kind of in the middle of nowhere. I sure would be open to your help with the...

    I was wondering...

Wow What a wealth of info! I'll have to get the numbers off of the machine and run them by you. As of now, the vac is hanging up in a garage in town. The aluminum could use a good buffing, and I fear what is in the bag! I remember the thrill, as a little kid, getting to go upstairs at my...

    I was wondering...

what a Wireless Vacuette would have cost new. My grandmother had one (which I still have), and I know that they didn't have money to spare (my great-grandfather was a farmer, as was my grandfather). Knowing what today's Kirby costs, I'm curious as to what my grandparents would have shelled out...

    Electrolux Super J

Thanks for the help... The dirt control wheel makes perfect sense now. I should have done my homework, however, as I discovered a copy of the Super J owner's manual in the Vacuumland owner's manual archives. The machine has been place in rotation with my other vacs for every other day...

    Electrolux Super J

I've been lamenting the fact that I never find a vacuum worth purchasing from the few local thrift shops for quite some time, but this evening, I had some luck. At a Goodwill store in a neighboring town, I found an Electrolux Super J, sans tools and wands, but with hose and a few genuine...

    Kenmore//Eureka Bagless Canister???

That's the one... I don't care for bagless vacuums, but this one caught my eye when it was in the stores...wouldn't mind finding one some day in my travels. Joe

    Kenmore//Eureka Bagless Canister???

Hello All: What was the bagless canister vacuum that Sears offered back in the early 2000s...that was made by Eureka and looked like a bagless American Electrolux vac? If my memory is OK, the machine was a translucent blue color. Can anyone provide me with the details? I remember that there was...

Royal Model 2000 Outer Bag Replacement Info Needed

I've picked up a Royal upright, model 2000, and have been searching high and low for a source for a replacement outer bag. The original owners used the machine without the paper inner bags, so the outer bag is really grungy...and I don't feel like trying to wash the bag. The only outer bags...

...Am i the only one that thinks a vacuum and steam do NOT mix well....?

I have a steam cleaner that I picked up at Goodwill for $9.95 a few months ago. While I am a hands and knees, scrub rag using type of floor scrubber, I have found this machine to be handy for those times that the dog tracks in, I slop something, or I am just feeling lazy about doing the floors...

The last time these will be together...The NORTH CAROLINA FIFTY-SEVEN!!!

Wow... I'm really impressed, and laud you for what you guys are doing. You surely have your work cut out for you, what with selling the vacs on eBay, the packing, the shipping...and no doubt, the fretting about the whole undertaking. I only hope that you've got folks who will be able to help...

    Air-Way 80th Anniversary

More about bags... Thanks on the info about possible bag replacements. My fear is that what is out there today won't filter like the originals. My machine is as clean inside as it was the day that I got it from the factory. Joe

    Air-Way 80th Anniversary

Where is everyone getting bags??? I have the same model, though I don't remember what number is etched on the plate (the machine is packed away at present). I don't use it, as I am out of bags. Anyone have advice as to where I can find a stash of bags for this machine? Joe

my G5 needs a new brushroll...

Well... Bill, I hear you... At my old house, my Heritage II coped with my wall to wall berber very well. The house that I am in now has hard flooring, with area rugs. The Heritage works really well on the rugs in the den and bedroom, but I have found that the Eureka Boss Smart Vac does best on...

my G5 needs a new brushroll...

methodistbill: I don't know about the "G" series, but I know that the micro-matic height adjustment on the Heritage and family has a screw underneath that can be used to further adjust the height setting...sort of a fine tuning. I wonder if that would help? Joe

Kirby Heritage II Rug Nozzle Question

Though I've not weighed the two of them... There is a definite weight difference between the two machines. When picked up, one really notices that the "Classic" nozzle version is heavier than the trimmed down version. J

Kirby Heritage II Rug Nozzle Question

And then... The motor housings are different too. The large nozzle machine has the housing that was used on the Heritage, without the cooling openings. But what about the serial numbers that don't seem to make sense? Any thoughts or words of wisdom is really welcome! Thanks loads, Joe
