They're probably gray-market goods. Bought from an out of business business or something, new, but since they're not being sold by an authorized dealer the warranty will be void.. You see a lot of this sort of stuff at liquidation stores.

Thanks for those scans.. always like seeing old catalogs. It reminded me that I do have one of those green Hoover Legacy's hidden away upstairs in a closet. Maybe I should dig it out and give it a run, been awhile.

The ad has been there for awhile. Are you thinking of going to get it if it's still available? I was but I'm trying to downsize and secondly I'd probably be killed before it got into the house or shortly afterwards. Hard to hide a thing like that.

Love the old catalog pics. And there's moms 57 Kenmore Horizon, the first vac I remember as a kid... she used it well into the 80's and afterwards it sat downstairs in the laundry room as a basement vac.. Of course when I moved back here in 06 it was gone... I was to say the least a little...
