    chili recipe

We just make chili as normal but use the Rotel Mild canned tomatoes. If it was just me eating it I'd use the regular hot can of Rotel plus more added peppers.

Happy Christmas to me Kitchenaid it will be...

Last time I looked. The KA stand mixers and possibly the hand mixers are still made in the USA but their blenders, toasters etc are made in China unfortunately. The pasta attachment I believe is made in Italy . You have to look carefully at the bottom of the blenders etc to see that.. it's...

    Raising Monarch Butterflies!

It's very interesting. I've only seen a couple of Monarchs this summer here in our yard. There's been quite a bit of write up lately in the newspapers about them, apparently some of the garden centers are selling various types of Milkweed plants now. There used to be a lot of Milkweed growing...

    Unknown Kenmore upright

Mine was the same green color but the same design as the blue one above only self propelled. I bought it new on clearance from Sears, can't remember the year but late 70's. I bought the attachment set for it but the suction was so weak thru the hose that I returned the set and bought the little...

    Unknown Kenmore upright

Looking at the pictures again I don't see the speed switch on the back so it's probably not the self propelled version (which also said Power Ease on the front of the handle. As well, to attach the bags to the machine there's a bag holder clip that you first attach to the cardboard collar of...

    Unknown Kenmore upright

It's a Kenmore Duo Power upright. I can't tell from the pic if it's the self-propelled model or not. Anyways,, grab it. They're getting very scarce. They were made by Singer/Ryobi if I'm not mistaken, I've forgotten for the moment, someone will correct me. , Matsushita then bought them out...

    National Jetflo Upright

I've got numerous of them. I just like them for whatever reason, even though they're not the greatest vacuum but they do a good job on low/med carpet, they're relatively quiet and certainly easy to use.

Braun small appliances making UK comeback

The new stuff will be junk in all likelihood. They used to make some of the nicest designed appliances out there when it was really Braun. I have a fairly good collection of them.

My Gardening equipment, as of March 2014!! (Mowers, grass trimmers etc!)

It was Toro back then in the 70's that sold them over here. They never took off and to this day I've never seen anyone using one. Reel mowers are pretty much non existent today . The gas self propelled ones were somewhat common up until the 60's and then faded away into obscurity. Most yards...

    Origins of Kenmore Name

Sears was Sears-Roebuck in the US. They came to Canada in 1955 and formed a partnership with the Canadian dept store chain Simpsons. Simpsons at the time were only located in a few bigger cities in Ontario and Quebec and primarily were big flagship downtown stores. The then new Simpson-Sears...

    Typewriters thread

I learned to type on my mothers little blue Olivetti Lettera 22 back in the 60's. In highschool I really wanted an electric SCM but they were pretty expensive and not something my dad was about to fork out the money on. One day I was in Kmart and found an el cheapo Wedgefield (rebranded...
