Thanks geoffrack8. We lost him about a year ago. Here's a YouTube video of him from my old account.

    Oreck Age

Thanks for the help. I wonder why they didn't put the XL21 online earlier?

    Oreck Age

The earliest record of the XL21 on their website is 2005. If you want to check, you can go on the wayback archive. I'll post a link to it. http://web.archive.org/web/20051001000000*/oreck.com

    Oreck Age

I've got two Orecks that I need to find the age, a 2600 and an XL21. The XL21 has a Date stamp of 03329, and the 2600 has a 5 digit code (which I'm assuming is the date) of 00082. A post in the archives said that the first two digits were the year and the last 3 were the day the vacuum was made...

    Miele Alize

That machine is very nice looking. I love the color! How does it compare to the S5?

    Have you used a Keurig?

I have that model. Great for making stuff like hot chocolate or apple cider. Just remember to occasionaly run it without a k-cup to clean the innards out.

Vac companies where'd they come from?

Here's Miele's history. They seem to have started in the 30's. http://www.mieleusa.com/about_miele/about_miele.asp?oT=115&benefit=97&active=The%20Company&subm=Corporate&thirdL=About%20Miele&fourthL=History&menu_id=42

I've got one of those GE canisters. It's pretty quiet and cleans well.

    3D Printers

Since 3d printers are on the rise and getting cheaper, I've been looking into them, and I had a great idea. Since vacuum parts can be pretty expensive, why not make your own? For example, my Hoover 28's original hood has a noticeable crack in it. If I made a replica, I wouldn't have to worry...

What does a vacuum need to be good?

In your opinion, what makes a vacuum good? For me, it's ease of use. Even if I need to clean the whole house, I'm more likely to grab my Sebo X2 and Hoover Constellation that I am to use a heavy power nozzle canister. The Sebo's got a great handle design, and the Constellation has one of the...

Cleaning a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled

I've ordered both belts for the cleaner. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

    Video of my restored Hoover

How did you make a bag? My 541's bag is filled with holes, and I'd like to get the vacuum looking good.

Cleaning a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled

The belts do feel a bit loose. Could that be the source of the problem?

Cleaning a Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled

What is the process to repair the cable? The vacuum works very well other than the self propel.
