I think the decline in quality was mainly due to cheap vacuums like the Regina Housekeeper.

When did Air-Way introduce their bags? I always heard about how they were the first to have disposable bags and great filtration because of this.

That looks just like the Hoover Nano Lite. It's an alright vacuum, but the brushroll is weak and the hose is short.

I was thinking about using a small canister and an Oreck in at the same time when cleaning, and I came up with a great way to store the tools. I took the tool clip off of a eureka canister wand, and attached it to the handle of the Oreck. Here is a link to the same attachment clip...

I'd guess around mid 1960's. The constellation ran from 1954 to 1975. I actually use my constellation 858 a lot as a hard floors vacuum.

Those Riccar Supralites are said to work very well. If you search "riccar supralite" or "simplicity freedom" in the forum search bar, you will find a lot praise for the vacuum.

One brand I haven't seen suggested here is Lindhaus. While I don't have one, I've heard great things about them. They can quickly convert to a bare floor vacuum, have great filtration, and can be used for deep cleaning.

My 6.8 amp Sebo X2 is one of the quietest vacuums in my collection, along with the Hoover Constellation 858.

I love hoover power drives. They're great vacuums.

The good thing about the sebo and miele uprights is that both of them are deigned to fit under low furniture.
