    Thoughts on Hoover Dial-a-Matic 1120

I take it you've never had to take the motor out of one of these. They come apart one way, you need to very forcefully, and also gently, remove the base by going up and over the handle to remove the motor cover. It is quite a pain if you have never done it before.

New home for 50's Kirby with many attachments

Would love pics. Where are you located?

    Eureka Overseas

Actually its more like a Deluxe with ball bearings. Note how there is only a hole in the wheel bracket for an oil wick but no wick in the motor, but it has the model D handle system. I've never seen a motor brush Eureka from the 30s in England, doesn't mean they didn't exist but they would be...

    Eureka Overseas

Either before or after this one they did a ball bearing(what would be a model K power plant) with the head of a model 11. They seem to be more common than the deluxe. Vac pictured owned by Jack Copp but there are others online. Note the round fan case and front height adjuster.

Extremely Old Hoover, searching for details.

I have to ask Did you ever get the brush mechanism working? The motor not working could either be bad carbon brushes or the switch not making contact. These are not repulsion start and live forever.

When the Electrolux man services more than the vacuum cleaner

Any DTD job. I'll put it this way, my great grandfather was an ice man.

Seeking Info on GenVac Handheld Model 8227

A late 80s rebranded Royal 501, likely for a special store or catalog. Think you forgot a decimal in the price though... Very few vacs are worth that and most of em are restored 1930s Kirbys.

You may get more responses for this on Facebook, it seems a lot of former members here migrated to the groups on there.

    Shipping a Hoover 825 and an Air-way

That indicator is definitely replaced, appears to be maybe cardboard or plastic? The original would be clear celluloid.

    Shipping a Hoover 825 and an Air-way

On the Hoover its a bolt with a wing nut. On the Air Way its a flathead screw. But I would leave that intact and just eat the shipping cost. Trying to remove the handle usually leads to the cast aluminum cracking.

I eat my words sometimes. Found in a 1936 Buckeye Vacuum parts catalog. If you read the top paragraph... The green is original.

Hoover 652 Made in Turkey by Gülok Makina

Noted about the rubbing compound, it looks quite nice! That is an interesting color of Hoover Senior, does the bag match the hood or is it grey?

Hoover Junior Dirt Searcher Model 1354A Restoration

"No screw left unturned" as they say. That takes talent and patience. I can't wait to see what else you restore!

Hoover 652 Made in Turkey by Gülok Makina

That light blue 652 is gorgeous! Is that plastic base? Voltage is no issue, I bought a voltage step up transformer awhile back for my foreign cleaners. As for shipping cost that is to be expected, I can sell a few things if need be to save up. It would be an honor to own a Turkish cleaner!! Do...
