It’s a Santo but it’s not *that* Santo.
The cleaner on eBay would mount to a board with a fan chamber on the other end and a crank in the middle. The crank would turn the fan with a belt and the tube from that fan case would enter the bin(eBay) on the bottom. This one isn’t mine but it’s one...
I had this exact one when I was like 12. Yanked(literally) from overgrown grass in front of a barn at a yard sale. The handle release was busted so it was laying down for years, the motor I remember was completely rust covered and seized. I remember a a tiny plant growing in the headlight lens...
November's big find for me - a Domestic Bar Brush. I know nothing about this other than it was built by Torrington, who bought the Domestic Sweeper Co at some point in the mid 1910s. The vacuum itself is made entirely of pressed steel with some wood components. It shares the motor and handle...
Oooo!
I always get excited when I see a vintage vac from South Africa. Not many collectors down your way so you don't see em much.
Could be belt quality? I know certain brands of belt makers have gone down in quality and they snap easily.
There was a yellow one, I found the now deleted listing on mp. I forgot to save the whole pic but this is the front. This was in Finland but idk if it was sold elsewhere.
I recently paid a visit to Mid Missouri Vacuum. I never thought I'd get to own a cleaner from Stan Kann, especially not two(the other being a Sturtevant 15).
Some of you might remember, years ago I posted on here about my first Torrington, also a C. The back wheel was mostly missing from rust...
The beautiful, bulbous Morrow courtesy of Mr Tom Gasko(thank you!). It didn't need much, a piece of plastic to hold the motor plug down, a cord hook, some grease, a minor polish, and a grommet.
Very powerful machine!! And bag graphics to die for.
Going by the ads, I just picked up and redid the 1936-37 Kenmore Challenger, though it says Standard in very small letters on the front plate. Very quiet running machine with a like new brushroll.
The OG Bissell ones like in the first pic are SO big and heavy. It is a workout to use.
The Shark lift offs, at least the older ones, are a bit clunky with the way they lift off, I hear they improved it with later models though I haven't tried them myself.
I have been wondering about this...
Haven't done a sweeper resto in a hot minute!
Quite awhile ago I found this on eBay for very cheap. Somewhere on here is the thread about the listing. The pic I took of the before really does not give justice to how rusty this was! Several of the screw heads had turned into rust lumps and the...
I do not have a pic, but years ago on ebay the empty shell of one came up.
