Kirby Shampooer leaving rugs and carpet rough/flat

hmmm, well, my comment was partially from my own experience using 3 different Kirby shampoo systems and partially from what ex kirby technicians/salesmen have shared with me. Their system is not full proof and not intended for carpets THAT contaminated! I would agree with you there...and I...

Kirby Shampooer leaving rugs and carpet rough/flat

gregvacs28 I completely disagree from your rash judgement of it. That cleaning video you posted a screenshot of is not what the Kirby Shampooer is intended for. If there is a stain to that degree, spot cleaning it first is highly recommended. Kirby's shampooer is not intended to be an...

    Through the years to come.

I have real doubts that most of the vacs today will be around 30-50-100 years from now....other than a rare unused/barely used model. I think the because fro the most part, they aren't made to be serviced ( on the whole) like the vacuums of the first 3/4's of the 20th century. Most plastic...

    Last vacuum always wins?

I was challenged to do my dirt meter test differently , so, this time I used my Royal 4000 (10.5 amp) vacuum first...2 sweeps only over an entire basement ( big) room. Then, I put the dirt meter on the Kirby Legend II to see what was caught afterwards. This result was a bit more debris than my...

    Last vacuum always wins?

I conducted a little informal fun test ....vacuumed my upstairs areas 1.75 rooms for this test with my Kirby heritage II and 40 mins later out the dirt meter on another Kirby to see why the first one might have missed ( because many people say ‘ the last vacuum to clean wins’ aka whatever vacuum...

    Polishing aluminum

husky, yeah I have one....harbor freight model, its good but would be better if it was a 1 horsepower model ( that I don't think is offered from them). I"ve only recently got it up and going working on my early Model C kirby, its definitely stronger/more efficient than my hands butler. I"ve got...

FREE - good Kirby motor units - Classic 1CR, Omega, Tradition

Les, good job on those deep scratches! sanding was required! polishing is the big challenge next for that, I have some in the same condition and thats what I did too.....sand with agressvie grit gradually going finer....wet sanding as well before the polishing

Sirena refurb worth it? What about Quantum X?

lux_luthor your post caused me to recall when I first got my first Rainbow. I lived in a 720sq/ft apartment and it took 4 vacuuming sessions to finally get semi clear water!! I was stunned!!!! I had been using my new Oreck XL and who knows what was used before me there.

    Polishing aluminum

0000 steel wool, then mothers' polish with my Kirby Hand butler! on some hard spots I'd wet sand with 2500 grit sandpaper then polish

    Polishing aluminum

I thought my 505 emptor was pretty good, but during my restoration of my 1935 Model C......yikes. The results show I need to work more on that 505!! Also, notice the size difference between the two!
