Irony's, or karma? I was looking on Facebook marketplace for a used KitchenAid to put at the boyfriend's house when I'm there, while doing so I got a message from a long time friend clearing things up and did I want his old KitchenAid which had broken. A drive pin had sheared off, yeah it's...

    Kenmore vacuums at other retailers

Had issues with both of my previous Kenmore bag docks in the past. My 400 series is different, has had no leakage in 2 years, still same bag, so not a lot of use, but it seems to seal better to me.

    Sewing machines

I picked up a middle of the road Kenmore maybe 15 years ago? On sale at Sears I believe it's made in Japan, a few too many things for me as I am strictly amend or shorten or put back together type of person. Still have my mother's singer from around 1950 of course it works

Of course if you had nothing but delicate rugs they offer a delicate brush roll for the machine also and you can mechanically turn the brush roll off if necessary. Options!

Would you buy and live in an original and maybe even period-furnished 1968 home?

I'm going to jump in with my opinion, since you took the time to post a very complete post. Having been born of the 50s it's something that would interest me as is! I love mid-century but the 60s and starting 70s are still of interest to me also, if a buyer is interested in an original house...

    Eureka Sweet Sixteen Canisters

Another thought, although obviously I could be very wrong! I always thought that the Hoover and Eureka back in the day, they had some models starting at let's say a beginning household's budget and then fancied up and more powerful from there, where adding a power head would almost double that...
