    Not Enough Female Vacuum Collectors

Well my interest in vacuums is from a mechanical point of view. I love machines. While I'm not big on guns, I am also interested in them for the same reason. Machines are interesting. Especially antiques.

    Vacuum Cleaner Diversity

Shark Rocket Professional. (A real upright, not a stick vac.) It's funny because a lot of folks here get all bent out of shape when someone says a Shark is good. But honestly, yeah. Great suction, cleans well, swivel steering, very quiet, easy to empty, washable filters. You can't get parts? I'm...

Ragequit lol If I had a dollar for every time I've heard this speil... It's just internet drama. Believe me, I understand, it's just that, at the end of the day, it's just a bunch of idiots squabbling over something miserably insignificant.

Does anybody else think this whole site could use a refresh?

Hey, yeah, total kudos to Robert for keeping this site together. Trust me, I know how difficult something like that is. A labor of love, really. And I can totally appreciate the amount of work and dedication that it takes. That being said, however, yes, it's about 10 years past the time when it...

The Brilliant is coming along nicely!

Plating really isn't that hard. But if it was very pitted, filling the pits with actual metal that can be plated over would be very difficult.

    Atwood central vac

Well, I found a patent. The only one I can find for a James Thomas Atwood of Rockford, IL. It's a central vacuum, of the roots type of air pump, like a supercharger. I also got several hits on google books. Search for "Atwood stationary vacuum cleaner" https://patents.google.com/patent/US1090127A/

The Brilliant is coming along nicely!

Was it originally nickel plated? If it was that rusty, I'm guessing you'll have to paint it?

    General Electric MM9 Wringer Washer...

ATF will probably dissolve the old thickened oil, so probably a good idea. Probably check on the oil condition in a year or so.

My dream car found, The 1985 Pontiac Firebird!

In Illinois, again, only some counties require inspections. Even then, only for 1996 and newer. The reason for that is that owning and maintaining emissions testing equipment AND keeping employees trained in using them, is VERY expensive. 1996 and newer OBDII cars don't need any test equipment...
