    Kirby Maintenance Questions

HonestJoe68,   I've always used the Flitz paste in the tube and have always got excellent results with that. Flitz is a little more expensive but a little goes a long way.

    Kirby Maintenance Questions

Flitz Polish... I have been using Flitz Polish lately. This is the same polish that Kirby uses in their Rebuild dept.   I find That Flitz not only gives you a better shine than Mother's on Aluminum, but it is also a rubber and plastic cleaner as well. You do not need to remove the rubber...

    Kirby Avalir 2?

Kirby Redesign... I agree with human 100%.   I do not see a Kirby with a separate brushroll motor anytime soon. This would add considerable cost to an already very expensive machine.   I have a friend who is a Kirby distributor who told me that Kirby will not introduce a completely...

    Kirby Avalir 2?

JUJU93 I don't think we will find out what was changed other than the colors until the Avalir2 is officially released. When Kirby starts selling them, we will find out.

Kirby Needs Store Patrick,   I was happy to hear that you found what you were looking for at the Kirby Needs Store. Kent is a great guy and I have purchased many Kirby parts and bags from him. As always it is a pleasure doing business with him.   ~Stan

    Late 1979 Kirby Tradition

Reo580,   People traded their Classic III just to get the Disposable Bag System on the Tradition. However that early disposable bag system really reduced airflow because the fill tube was too narrow therefore reducing the Tradition's cleaning performance.   Fact: the Classic III was a...

    Kirby Sentria 2 Questions:

Hello Patrick,   I have always adjusted my Kirby's nozzle by raising it all the way up and then lowering it until I hear the brushes contact the carpet then lowering one more click. However I have found that this method always ends up on setting #3 so now I just set it to 3 and start...

    Is a Sanitronic Dual 50 Same as a D50

Pam,   You would be much better off purchasing a Heritage II style outer bag and emptor which will attach directly to your D50, then you could use Kirby's newest HEPA bags inside it.   The Heritage II Bag & Mini emptor is available in the Kirby Needs store on ebay for around $60.00.

    What’s your favorite kirby

My favorite Kirby is my Classic III. I love the red colors. I have both the Red shake out bag and Heritage II Legend disposable bag system for my Classic III.   Here are a few pictures:

    Is a Sanitronic Dual 50 Same as a D50

Hopefully that paper bag is not an F&G bag. Those are horrible because they restrict the D50's airflow therefore reducing performance significantly.

Royal Metal Uprights - Belt Question

Francisco,   I was told by a fellow Royal collector that you should lower the nozzle height until the Adjust-O-Rite button is all the way in for best cleaning performance. You will notice that there are two notches, one on each side of the Rug Plate that allow air to enter the nozzle...

Royal Metal Uprights - Belt Question

Vortigan:   Are you sure you are using genuine Royal belts? I find that that a belt usually lasts a year or more on my Royal Everlast 8300.

    Royal 888

Royal with detachable nozzle... Royal only made machines with detachable nozzles for a short time, so that means that those Royals are quite rare.   The reason Royal stopped making these machines is because they were sued by Kirby who already had a patent on the detachable nozzle design for...

Sanitronic D50 Brush Roll Disassembly Procedure

I agree with Ben. That old brushroll has sleeve bearings and is not worth your trouble. You should get a new 4-row ball bearing brushroll. The motor will run smoother and your Kirby's cleaning performance will greatly increase.

Huge airflow differences in the recent vacuums

The Metal Royals have some of the best airflow and agitation of all upright vacuum cleaners. Now that these Royals have cloth HEPA bags available just like Kirby's, they now Join the Kirby at the top of CRI's ratings with well deserved GOLD status.

    Kirby g4

Lesinutah,   Why would you want to put a metal fan in your G4? The new Amodel Polymer fans are actually stronger and less prone to cracking or breaking while providing the same airflow as a metal fan.
