    Labor Day plans?

It's the best in my opinion. Basically you're getting fresh water from the mountain. To give an idea on how clear it is, this is Big Springs in Island Park which isn't far from Howard. The water is so clear that you can actually see fishes easily.

    Central vacuum

No that wasn't my machine. But I can tell you that it looked like this.

    Central vacuum

I agree. If it happened on a VacuMaid with those microswitch metal inlets, I'd be fine with that since I'd have to go and plug in the hose in order to turn the vacuum on like my grandfather's VacuMaid. The Aria is the only Lindhaus at least for corded models today that has the soft start...

    Central vacuum

I've used a Vacuflo 566Q and a VacuMaid S2600 that both had the soft start feature (coincidentally they both had the same motors). I've also had some Simplicity units made by the same company as CycloVac that used the soft start feature as well when I was working at a vacuum shop. Personally...

    Labor Day plans?

I actually was originally going to go up to Montana to visit some relatives and check out my grandfather's recently renovated cabin but that got postponed till like next month or so. But had I gone this weekend, I'd normally take route 20 instead of continuing on I-15 once I reach up to Idaho...

Oreck Big Foot upright, is it missing something?

Looks like it already got sold. I guess whoever bought it might have a solution for it.

    Oreck with built in radio.

I remember seeing one of these on a Oreck catalog from the mail years ago. I've always wanted one, thought it was a really cool idea back then. But no way I would've bought one for that price.

    Riccar R20 Ultra Premium acquisition

These were great machines, such a shame they discontinued them especially the 8955 that it replaced. In my opinion they were the best metal upright bypass designs ever based on the Hoover Dial-A-Matic. My relatives own the R20P.2 which has been a great machine for them overall, but I wish they...

    Filterqueen Majestic

I contacted the USA distribution from their website, I remember writing that on another thread a long time ago. You're correct they haven't gone away completely.

    Filterqueen Majestic

I really don't believe it until I see so. Some companies can lie, one time my favorite company Panasonic told me they weren't going to discontinue making vacuums after hearing they were which in fact they did.

Hoover Anniversary Windtunnel Supreme or Royal Cleanseeker ProSeries Rebadge

Definitely gave smaller but more passes with the Kirby than the Panasonic.

    Singer Lazer Storm

I used to work as a janitor for a local retirement village and they had Windsor Sensor XP15 uprights that are the same as my SEBO X5. They were overall great machines, really my only complaint would be the L shaped nozzles on those and I wish they had S15 uprights instead as a result. But I've...

Sanitaire S490A -- Original Power Nozzle?

That's a very cool Sanitaire, it does remind me of some old Miele's.

    Singer Lazer Storm

When I mean by copy, they share designs that are the same like where the height adjuster knobs are located at or how the brushstrips are changed out. And it's not the only SEBO that got copied. Hoover, Sanitaire, Rubbermaid, etc made uprights based on the X and G series for example. I'm well...

    Singer Lazer Storm

Yes I'm aware that Oreck sold some Big Foot models quite a while ago. They also had a black model as well which I believe came out before the orange one. Definitely interesting designs, reminds me of some Lindhaus uprights like the Linda Hepa Eco 7 for example. I'd still take the XL Pro 14T or...

    What are Oreck doing?

From my understanding those were made by someone else for Oreck. I read from a collector that the Big Foot was actually a Bissell. Speaking of which, Oreck used to have a commercial line that was run by a small company in Massachusetts. When Oreck got bought out by TTI, they got Bissell to lease...

    Are Oreck Vacuums any good?

Out of curiosity, may I ask why resurrecting an old thread from over 10 years ago and replying to someone who hasn't been active since 2016? I doubt that user is ever gonna read your comment. Anyways that being said, I sorta had a love/hate relationship with Oreck. I liked them at first, then...

    Singer Lazer Storm

That's interesting, it now makes me wonder of who actually made these machines. I doubt it was from Oreck, I'm sure they leased theirs' from somebody. Speaking of which, that same company who videoed the Smart Space also did a video of the Oreck XL Pro 14T. That's another vacuum I'd take over...

Eureka & Sears Brands Wide Track 4000 Series & 5085 Upright Data

That was a Kenmore canister I would've easily bought back in the day, even I'd take it over a Miele in a heart beat. I could've had it for vacuuming underneath beds, stairs, and barefloors while I'd use a Heavy Duty upright for everywhere else since I prefer uprights over canisters. This is the...
