Should I start 3d printing vacuums.

3-D Printing Scott, It's a cool idea, I think you should also ask this over in vintage/contemporary where there's a lot more foot traffic. It's okay, it's relevant in all three categories.Do you have any background in this, looks like there's a bit of a learning curve and a little spendy up...

    Shampooing Carpeting

What ever method you use,I would finish off by using a steam extractor as a final rinse and extraction. Actually I would just go with the extractor for both washing and rinsing the carpet. If you don't own a steam cleaner you can rent one. If the carpet is as soiled as you say, I would...

Hamilton Beach Crock Watcher Auto Shift

Wow I finally got it up to 200 on high, but like you said, it takes a while. This is up from 120 on any setting so progress. I believe this is a NOS pot and about 45 yrs. old. I wanted too open it up to see if everything looked alright but they did a good job disguising the way it buttons up! No...

Hamilton Beach Crock Watcher Auto Shift

Lucky Crock Pot find (I think) I cruised through the local thrift store near me and as always there were crock pots galore on aisle 10! I think there were nine pots available this week. Two were "instant pots"a newer version with more features. Then I spotted a Crock Watcher on the top shelf...

    Vintage Craftsman reciprocating saw

Just wonderin' who was making most of the power tools for craftsman back in the 60's-70's?

Hamilton Beach Crock Watcher Auto Shift

I've been adding red pepper flakes all along for a little extra heat and also smoked paprika. I don't know why I have trouble finding diced tomatoes with peppers, so I just open a can of chilies and chop them up. The good will, thrift stores almost always have a couple crock pots back in the...

    World's First(?) 13" Kirby Tradition

It does look factory I've been kicking around the idea of doing a nozzle swap myself. Is the main advantage of using the smaller nozzle better suction or just less clunkiness while vacuuming? Or both, haha!

    Circa 1915 Birtman "The Republic"

Brushroll position Am I right in thinking that with the brushroll positioned back from the front, almost centered to the motor that more weight is being put on said roller? At first I thought that it would be awkward vacuuming up to a wall, but then how many people had wall to wall carpeting...

    Something interesting I dug up

Oh my, This was a really great thread you posted here. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all that was printed about the companies future plans and the festivities in the 'city of angels' planned. How fun was that? Investing in and supporting your employees is a winning strategy proven time and...

    Panasonic MC-2730/Jet-Flo 170 Canister

Nice little cleaner I bought a $5 grab bag of vacuum attachments at a yard sale and in there was the same floor nozzle as what you purchased. So now I have a better idea what mine came off of. Your machine looks to be lightly used and in good shape. How well does it clean?

    Electrolux's Finest- PRE 1980

Later produced Model G's Turquoise model G's produced after the sibling model G bronze came out were equipped with it's larger motor which I'm told was a nice improvement. So that's my choice. The Hospital G is probably even better but aesthetically turquoise is my choice.

Kirby Wheels Question (Models C to 515)

Jim, Very nice touch indeed. Your wheels look great too! I think if I gathered all of my early 500's I might be able to come up with a round of good wheels for one machine! Is there anything that I could put on these wheels to help preserve what's left of them?

    dating Hoover SteamVac Deluxe

Spinscrub/Steamvac I noticed on your sticker that there was an absence of a "dot.com" address. 1995 was the year that saw the majority of businesses adding that as a part of their address. Hoover.com for example. Hoover also switched their motors up to 12 amp not long after your model came...

Kirby Wheels Question (Models C to 515)

Oh those washers... Ben, on models where wheel washers were used, do you know if they came painted to match trim? I've seen a couple #500 series models with red painted washers, which I really like and was just curious if that was done originally or not. Billy

Kirby Wheels Question (Models C to 515)

anybody know when did they start using the escutcheon screws on the wheels? I'm guessing when they started using wider wheels. Were the first to use the wide wheels the classic 1cr?

    On a cooking binge

I'm thinking that the new kitchenaid mixers were employed during all this cooking! I know they will, come the holidays this year. Great for those big cookie batches. I'm considering buying the ice cream making attachment for the KA. It would be nice to make larger amounts than the 1qt. maker I...

Hamilton Beach Crock Watcher Auto Shift

Thanks for checking Nice to have the confirmation that they indeed exist. The last time I saw them in this store was around the time stores began having shortages. I had the beans on my list. As I was walking down the aisle to pick up a can there was this man literally swiping all the canned...
