    Worst hose you've ever used

huskyvacs I own a Ridgid 12-gallon shop vacuum that has a large diameter hose. It is a little unwieldy to use and it and gets staticky on the outside, but it allows for a large cleaning radius. Also, I shouldn't have said "upright" in my OP, as now we're talking about canisters and Shop-Vacs...

    Worst hose you've ever used

Pics Jon requested some pictures of my Bissell, so here they are. The hose IS pretty stretchy, just not long enough for my taste.

    Worst hose you've ever used

What is the worst-designed hose you've ever used on an upright vacuum cleaner? For me, it's on the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off vacuum. I've owned this machine since Christmas of 2018, and it's pretty much been my daily driver. While it's a fine vacuum, the hose is just too short, making it...

Why you should clean the brush roll end caps on your vacuum

Last night, I did a little maintenance on my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off vacuum. On the bottom of the vacuum, I noticed that some dirt was clogged in the suction channels. I unscrewed the 10 screws holding the bottom cover in place, and then lifted it off. Sure enough, there was a bunch of...

Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Cordless Handheld & Upholstery Cleaner

First impressions This little machine works pretty well! I used it yesterday to "erase" a set-in vomit stain near my door, and it came right up. The suction is good and the battery life (15 minutes) is decent. I find the Pet Stain Eraser significantly more convenient to use than my Lift-Off...

Bissell Pet Stain Eraser Cordless Handheld & Upholstery Cleaner

My dad and his girlfriend just bought this machine from Lowe's. We've never owned a cordless deep cleaner until now, so this is pretty exciting! However, the unit has to charge for at least 4 hours prior to the first use.[this post was last edited: 5/23/2020-19:17]

    Neighbors owning the same vacuum?

Come to think of it... A family across the street (with two daughters, who were both friends with my sister) from my old house had a Kirby Sentria. And another friend of my sister's, at a cul-de-sac across from the old place, also owned a Kirby Sentria! I just remembered that from the...

    Neighbors owning the same vacuum?

After moving a few months ago to a larger house in the same city, but a different neighborhood, I observed something strange yesterday: Right across the street, I have a neighbor who tends to do woodwork. I was just going to get the mail, and his garage was open. I peeked in there, and he owns...

Fantom Fury motor bearings on their way out?

Huskyvacs, the motor on my Fury was actually healthy when I got it in late 2018. It wasn't until this year that the motor got progressively louder with each use. The main reason I got this Fury was for nostalgic and sentimental reasons. But then I realized its many flaws over time. I didn't...

Fantom Fury motor bearings on their way out?

Update After getting to the motor on my Fury, I blew out the fan vanes using a can of compressed air, which is normally used for dusting off electronic components. Quite a bit of dust came out. However, upon reassembling the machine, I turned it back on, and the motor is making the EXACT SAME...

Fantom Fury motor bearings on their way out?

I got to the motor... ...and it's hard for me to tell whether or not the fan is unbalanced. There's some dust in there, and a few strands of hair (not mine). But the armature looks great. I posted another video where I turn the motor by hand, showing the armature and fan.

Fantom Fury motor bearings on their way out?

So I've recently decided to put my 12 amp Fantom Fury to use again, after having not used it in several months. It was mostly from boredom during quarantine. The vacuum still runs great. However, the motor has gotten progressively louder the last few times I've used it. As of today, it has...

New Shark Innovation coming Spring 2020

Looks pretty interesting... I agree with what electromatik said about this new Shark innovation. The "magnetic charger" concept looks like it was copied from the Apple Watch, which uses a proprietary magnetic induction-based charger, similar to the MagSafe cable used on MacBook laptops.

    Why I dislike Dyson

Shattered For the record, I (or anyone else in my family) have NEVER vacuumed up anything wet with the Dyson. Even after washing the pre-motor filter and replacing the HEPA post-motor filter, the smell lingered until I washed out the cyclone assembly. As I've stated in my OP, dog smells build...

    Why I dislike Dyson

Les Yes, my Dyson did work fine as a daily driver for the first 5-6 years of its life. It's one of those situations where you like a vacuum for a long time, but upon closer inspection, realize it's not that great despite the hype. Even when the Dyson was a daily driver, I was irked by some of...

Why are cord clips on modern vacuums so flimsy?

@suckolux I unhook the cord every time I finish vacuuming. That's what contributed to more wear and tear on these cord clips. My WindTunnel had a retractable cord, and my Bissell has its cord situated low on the vacuum. @vacuumdevil I've never had the desire to get a central vacuum installed in...

Why are cord clips on modern vacuums so flimsy?

Before I begin, I have a big life update to share: I have moved to a newer, bigger house in the same city, but in a different neighborhood! The new house is 3,200 square feet (old one was 1,800) and features a gourmet kitchen, a mother-in-law suite (where my sister lives), wood laminate floors...

My first Robot Vacuum- how was yours?

gregvacs28 What I said was a bit of a misnomer; I have 2 large rescue dogs, both girls, along with 2 little boy dogs. The girls always go outside, and the boys, while they usually go outside, sometimes do their business inside, but on a puppy pad. Just some clarification.

My first Robot Vacuum- how was yours?

I used to own A Eufy RoboVac 30C Wi-Fi connected robotic vacuum cleaner. It would've normally cost $250, but my dad got it for free to review from the Amazon Vine program. Initially, we were amazed by it; it was mesmerizing to watch it in action, vacuuming the floor. But then, we discovered a...
