Bissell ProHeat Series (Early to Mid-2000s)

huskyvacs I forgot to mention in my OP that before cleaning, you do have to turn the machine on and let it sit for a minute or two for the heater to warm up. Although the heater switch is labeled "heater" on the machine, the manual refers to it as the "SmartTemp Switch," which I thought was a...

Bissell ProHeat Series (Early to Mid-2000s)

I'd like to discuss a line of carpet cleaners that I've always been fascinated by: the Bissell ProHeat, specifically the ones produced from the early to mid-2000s. They were primarily made out of glossy black plastic (other colors were available), and have a hood design that I always thought...

    Electrolux Intensity

I actually recall looking at this vacuum quite a bit on Electrolux's website, circa 2008. I thought that the design and concept were really cool, but now I can see why this vacuum was short-lived. Blackheart, the brushroll design looks very similar to the one used on a clutched Dyson, which...

Bissell Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuum Recall

I just heard about this on the news. Yesterday, Bissell recalled certain models of this cordless (CrossWave) vacuum due to defective batteries that can overheat and smoke. I figured that this would be worth a post in the interest of safety for anyone who owns one of these machines...

Shopping for a new bagless upright - Which one is best?

panasonicvac Looks like I will be staying away from both Dyson and Shark. The cordless Oreck you mentioned was a Christmas present that I received back in 2020. I thought it was a pretty solid machine (made in the USA) that did a good job on carpets. I honestly don't hate bagged vacuums; I do...

Shopping for a new bagless upright - Which one is best?

Interesting choices... I may have to go with a Kenmore. However, I also found a couple other candidates, which I'll post links to. Dyson Ball Animal 3: https://a.co/d/6rWfVYh Shark Rotator Lift-Away with DuoClean PowerFins: https://a.co/d/7MvimIr Thoughts on these two?

(1995) Hoover steam vac Supreme model F5825.

Blast from the past! I have been looking for a decent video of this particular SteamVac; my grandma owned it a long time ago, and my dad borrowed it from her around 2002 (when I was 8 years old) to deep clean the white carpet in my then-new house. So I have quite a bit of nostalgia for this...

Shopping for a new bagless upright - Which one is best?

My Dyson DC17, which I bought used off eBay last year, has been a solid machine, but I've been thinking about replacing it with a brand new, bagless upright for reasons which I'll explain shortly. Here's my information:

3200 sq. ft. house with laminate downstairs along with some...

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Speed Pet with Zero-M (ZU561)

I bought this vacuum on Black Friday for only $150, and gave it as a Christmas present to my mom yesterday, for her small one-bedroom apartment. She had been wanting this particular machine for quite a while, and was pleasantly surprised to get it. Although she doesn't have pets, I have a dog...

    Rare Shark Vacuums?

panasonicvac It's funny you mentioned the Infinity Navigator yesterday; I had been contemplating posting about another rare Shark - one simply called the "Infinity." The Infinity was released in late 2006 and featured 24-cyclone technology. I myself have never seen one in person, but my late...

Shark WANDVAC Power Pet Cordless Hand Vac

eurekaprince Yes, those contacts do indeed connect to electrical prongs in the charging stand. Oddly enough, even though there are three contact holes on the vacuum, the charging stand only has two prongs. I could see this being a concern with long-term use.

Shark WANDVAC Power Pet Cordless Hand Vac

I got this vacuum for Christmas; it's a small, lightweight, cordless handheld by Shark, featuring a high-speed brushless motor. I tried it out right away, and this vacuum packs a lot of power for its size! It picked up lots of glitter on a chair, which fell out of a string that was tied around...

Extra long wand attachment for Dyson DC17?

Update and Test I ended up buying 2 packs of those extension wands on Amazon, during their Prime Early Access Sale. They arrived yesterday, so I put them to the test. The wands themselves are thin and glossy, and they fit perfectly on the end of my Dyson's wand. The attachments fit on the ends...

Extra long wand attachment for Dyson DC17?

Would these work? I found this lot of 3 plastic extension wands on Amazon. When all 3 of them are attached, they allow for 44.1 inches (3.675 feet) of reach. So if I were to buy 2 sets of these wands, they might just allow me to reach the faraway windows. What are your thoughts...

10 Amp Fantom Fury on OfferUp

Sad news... I checked OfferUp the other day, and unfortunately, Chicagomike has now delisted all of his vacuums for sale, including the 10 amp Fury. This means that I won't be able to buy this Fantom anytime soon.

Extra long wand attachment for Dyson DC17?

This is something that's been on my mind for quite a while now. My current home has extra high ceilings and windows which have been impossible to reach with ANY vacuum I currently own. I did some measurements, and the ceiling is 15 feet high from the downstairs floor. When I'm halfway up the...

    Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner 35K3 - Solution Leaking/Suctioning Issue

wstonehocker96 Well said! I agree, it's hard to believe that my machine is still going strong after a decade.

    Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner 35K3 - Solution Leaking/Suctioning Issue

The repair Yesterday, I went and ordered a new hose from Amazon, and it arrived earlier today (thanks, Prime!) So I went and installed it with the help of a YouTube video. The whole process took just under an hour to do, as it involved taking the entire spot cleaner apart. I removed a bunch of...

    Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner 35K3 - Solution Leaking/Suctioning Issue

Has anybody owned this carpet cleaner, and if so, is able to offer a fix for this issue? My dad bought this machine new from Walmart back in February of 2012, so it is now 10 years old. I used the machine in both full-sized and portable modes extensively at my old house with wall-to-wall...
