Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

gregvacs28 This Quicksteamer is already gone; as I said in an earlier post, I set the entire machine by the dumpster where it belongs. I didn't cut the cord off or anything like that. Nobody wants a machine where the motor is completely shot and stutters.

    Fullscreen ads on mobile?

First of all, I am an upgraded member. However, whenever I'm logged out of the site and tap on a forum using my phone, I get a fullscreen ad like the one pictured below. And yes, I'm able to just exit out of them. Does anybody else get ads like these on their phones?

10 Amp Fantom Fury on eBay

This Fantom Fury has been on eBay for a few months now, and I'd like to share it here. I take a look at it from time to time, mainly because it's refurbished and looks identical to my original childhood Fantom Fury. Honestly, I like the dark green/teal accents on this one better than the mint...

    Fantom Wildcat on eBay

Yes I have seen this Wildcat on eBay before, initially at an outrageous price, which has gradually dropped over time. Due to the Wildcat's rarity, replacement parts for it are very difficult to find. Even so, the machine is fragile and apparently doesn't clean very well. Is is true that the...

    Hoover SteamVac Agility

Has anyone ever owned this carpet cleaner? Hoover claimed that it made carpet cleaning as easy as vacuuming. As a result, it had some convenient features, including side-by-side clean and dirty water tanks, along with a folding handle much like the Fold Away vacuum. Based off my research, the...

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

The End... I'm sad to report that my Quicksteamer saga has NOT come to a happy ending. I went to my mom's apartment after putting the machine back together the prior weekend. I plugged it in and tried turning it on. The motor is now completely shot; it runs slow and stutters, causing the lights...

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

Huskyvacs As a matter of fact, I already watched the first video you sent me, as I was looking for a guide on how to wash out the nozzle and other parts. On my machine, the red gasket is actually black. I'm not sure about the exact year it was manufactured, though. How do I find that out?

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off - Front Wheels Tangled

Thanks for the tip! However, these front wheels aren't made of rubber. They're actually hard plastic, unlike the back wheels, which DO have rubber.

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

New theory I'm almost certain that the Quicksteamer series utilize a "dirty-air" design, where all the dirty water is pulled through an impeller before being sprayed into the dirty water tank. I don't think I've ever seen a carpet cleaner with this kind of design. One observation I've found is...

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

Well... I’m at my mom’s apartment, and I was able to take the Quicksteamer apart down to the motor. The thing I like about this machine is that it comes apart really easily! There’s nothing to it. I was able to get to the motor, and it looks fine and turns smoothly, but the armature is a bit...

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off - Front Wheels Tangled

Huskyvacs I took your advice and pried out the wheels using a flathead screwdriver. From there, the axles simply slide off of the wheels. I was able to untangle the wheels from there! This was SO much easier than I thought. There was quite a bit of hair tangled in these wheels, and once they’re...

Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off - Front Wheels Tangled

I've had my Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off vacuum for about 9 months now, and it's still running beautifully. However, I just found this issue with the front wheels on it. These wheels are getting tangled with hair, which is ironic as the "tangle-free brushroll" really does live up to its...

    "Classic" Hoover SteamVac Discontinued?

As a matter of fact... I had a failed experiment last month regarding suds in the motor of a Bissell. My mom was given a Bissell QuickSteamer Plus last month from a friend of hers, who stated that occasionally, the soap doesn't come out. I went over there to try and resolve that problem. I...

    "Classic" Hoover SteamVac Discontinued?

Ironically... Hoover has some instructional videos on how to empty the dirty water tank on different SteamVac models, and said videos show foam getting sucked into the motor at the beginning of each. Here's a video for this particular machine.

    "Classic" Hoover SteamVac Discontinued?

Lately, I've noticed that the "classic" Hoover SteamVac SpinScrub with Clean Surge carpet cleaner (F5914900) is gone from Hoover.com, Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy. Did this model of SteamVac get phased out? I would greatly appreciate it if anybody could shed some light on this for me. I've...

    Dirt Devil Quick Vacs.

I used to use A Dirt Devil Dynamite back in high school; it was the main vacuum in my "high needs" classroom, originally purchased in September of 2008, when I was a freshman. It was a very nice and light vacuum to use on the super-low pile commercial carpet. However, the vacuum was very loud...

Where to find GENUINE Dyson DC07 Animal hose?

I don't think so To fix this problem, I simply put packing tape over the hole on the hose, and it's holding up just fine.

2000s Bagless Bissells (CleanView, PowerForce, Lift-Off, etc.)

Following another thread on 2000s bagless Hoovers, I've decided to make this post about bagless Bissells from the early to mid-2000s, specifically ones that are single-cyclonic. The first ones that come to mind are the CleanView series, which include the CleanView II and CleanView Revolution...

Bissell Quicksteamer Plus Model 1950 (FAIL)

Here's a failed vacuum experiment I just had. My mom was given a Bissell Quicksteamer Plus by a good friend of hers, who stated that sometimes the soap doesn't come out of it. This particular machine is from the early 2000s, and uses a stationary "Cross Action Brush" that just brushes over the...
