    Rescued

If I were her neighbor, I'd be all Gladys Kravitz at the window watching that pickup truck coming and going."Abner come quick, she's loading the grand piano,Abner!" Taking those two beauties to the trash drop off wouldn't even be on my list of options, just sayin'.Glad you saved them. Probably...

    Overpriced budget vacuums on Amazon

Interesting I googled Windtunnel Maxx and the prices ranged from 139.00 to 219.00. Amazon isn't always the lowest price leader that they'd like you to think, their price 273.84! I have an early US made windtunnel and I've always liked the way it performs. Heavy and loud right out of the box. I...

    ELECTROLUX Air-Powered Floor Polisher

Curious I have two Electrolux nozzles from back in the day. One has the amber colored strip that you show and one doesn't. Was that called the Tuftor? Was that an option? We had the air polisher like yours and it sat in the hall closet for years un-used until my grandfather talked some sense...

I got the new bissell powerforce bagged.

Not surprised The 2002 original has a 12 amp motor The 2022 newer model has an 8 amp motor I thought the motor sounded better on the older model Does the older 2002 blow papers off the table too?

    Best vacuum for shag carpeting

I agree, Les is right. I had shag carpeting in my last place, and when I got my first Sanitaire I noticed how much better the carpets looked. The red 7amp SC888 that I have is a beast! Powerful and light weight too.

Lady you don’t need to clean it, you need a new one!

Bag included? When the seller sends the buyer their vacuum with a full bag of dirt, which ads to the shipping weight, what is that? Are they so busy they can't take a minute to pull that nasty bag out of there or empty the bin or shake the cloth bag and maybe spray with febreze. Nice to be...

    Kirby 2C Armature Problem

LiAM if the bearings are bad enough to slow the motor down, the motor will draw more amperage than usual trying to get up to speed. This will cause the motor to heat up and eventually get so hot things start burning up like the wiring. You can develop shorts when the insulation is damaged on...

Recently acquired a 2spd Eureka 2090A. Motor is dead. Want to use Sanitaire 2 spd

It can get confusing I've got an SC888 Quick Clean red single speed 7amp Eureka motor. It's at least 15 years old. They still make these and I see them listed as classics. The red line were always the SC Sanitaire Commercial cleaners and the blue line used to be for domestic home use. It was a...

    Kirby 2C Armature Problem

Hang in there Liam As more people from VL see this, odds get better you'll resolve this.If you find a place you can ship the armature to I'd insure it. Be sure to check the condition of your bearings and carbon brushes when you put it all back together. Call Kirby first for advise.

    Kirby 2C Armature Problem

Liam This is a paraphrase of a saying that my dad told me and it applies here: "The more you learn about something the more you realize how little you knew." It looks like finding another armature that will fit and run will come from another 2C or 1C, which could take a while. If it was me, I...

    Cookie blitz again!

Same here On the days that I feel extra energy I have to pace myself or risk burn out in the afternoon! I get alot done but as Human says there's a price to be paid. I did get a lot of rainy day projects done as we are having record rain here in Ca. this winter. The ski resorts say they may be...

Recently acquired a 2spd Eureka 2090A. Motor is dead. Want to use Sanitaire 2 spd

Hmmm I have 5 sanitaires and wasn't aware there was a 2-speed model. I'm wondering if the two speed is a Eureka made Sanitaire or a newer made by Bissell or other. I'm guessing that this two speed is really an ESP Eureka motor that adds a half amp when you slide the button on the handle...

    Kirby 2C Armature Problem

Liam No don't set the place afire! The instructor said he uses a small torch to remove the varnish before measuring the wire for replacement. You may or not need to do that. I mostly just wanted you to see how involved repairing an armature can be. I wouldn't even try this rebuild myself, I'm...

    Kirby 2C Armature Problem

Just for you Liam, I went online to see if I could find something that would give me an over view of what is involved in rewinding an electric motor. What I found should give you an idea of what is involved. The motor is not the same as yours but because it's larger, it's easier for you to see...

    Hoover Dual Voltage Convertible

It is cool A nice addition to your fleet. It's kind of funny that I knew nothing about this model existing , they are kind of rare. Then this month alone, March 2023,this is the 3rd time I've seen or heard about this particular vacuum on VL.Go figure. Does it have a plug adapter and or...

    Eureka Imperials - 1970s & 1990s

1992 I believe was the year that I noticed the amperage rating increasing from the usual 5-6amps to 7. Then it was game on with a lot of the companies bumping up at an amp a year, all ending up at the 12 amp ceiling. They did this gradually though, so it took a few years to top out. Once they...
