(1999) Hoover Windtunnel Self Propelled Premium U6445-900

My two cents I think you should get a second opinion, it never hurts. Either take it to another shop or how about making a little you tube video. Zero in on the motor running and if possible get in close and show the armature sparking. Ask if this amount of sparking is considered normal or does...

    70s Kenmore Canister Find

eurekaprince If I wrap my finger around the hose where it enters the collar and flex the hose up or down I get the big pinch. It's weird and may be indicative of this hose. It is a replacement hose. This happens mostly when I use the cleaner for jobs like vacuuming my car or the stairway. Not...

    70s Kenmore Canister Find

Yep! Looks the same as mine. The little tray that holds the attachments just snaps on to the top of lid. There are little slots on the lid that hold it in place.I've got later models where the attachment tray is hinged under the top lid and you lift both to access the bag compartment. Not...

    (1990) Hoover Convertible U4531.

Hoover You can also just rub the zipper with a bar of soap like ivory to get it moving. I'm not crazy about the smell of WD-40,just me. I keep a bar of soap out in the metal shed for when the sliding doors become harder to slide. Just rub the rails they ride across and good to go. Nice machine!

    Kirby Trio

Vacuumaholics I think you should get a free pass on this purchase. You made a sound economic decision with plusses that far out weigh any minuses. You have a barn and a storage unit or two so clutter is manageable, and with the money you'll save in the long run with these machines, this was an...

    Old Kirbys and things

Dual 80 rebuild It's beautiful like all the others. I thought I heard that Kirby was using tan trim now on all the rebuilds and was advised to retain all the original colored pieces before sending a unit in for overhaul. My humble opinion, the Dual 80 and HeritageII are two of the best Kirby's...

    My Kirby 519

Bulbs I was told that on some model Kirby's the light bulbs drew power off the mains,125v and others drew from the motor itself at 12v. I don't know if or when this occurred but I trust the source. Maybe someone like Ben could elaborate on this and if so, then you could decide if another...

    70s Kenmore Canister Find

That's great I think I remember you saying a while back you were wanting one of these Kenmore canisters. From your description it sounds like you have a model similar if not the same as one of mine. Model 25990 Sears Best w/Magicord 2-speed,12amp w/Powermate. Avocado and yellow with a wood tone...

    A Deal or a Steal?

Keither Been awhile, hope all is well with you! Are those stock wheels? If they are they're in great shape. Looks like a distant cousin of the "hospital vac." Weren't these made for use in schools, libraries and places where " Shhhh! Quiet please!" was important?

Well now, Happy Anniversary and Thank you Mr. Spangler. Early Happy Birthday to you Eureka 1998 and many more! Also, hi John, relatively speaking! I was gifted a Kirby Classic 1-CR at a divorce party I attended. I still have "Domino" so named because it was the first of many to follow.

Eureka Box Tops - for Billy & Others

Hi Paul & Brian Interesting thread! Do you know if Eureka or any third party vendors offered replacement box top units? I would imagine during and for a while after the box top was produced for the upper tier models that you could get one fairly easy. Did the Cordaway come standard on boxtop...

    Electrolux Model L Goodwill Find!

Wow! Certainly new to me. The Hospital G is the only non-blue or tan model I've seen from that era. Where I live that machine would have been snapped up in a hot minute. Glad it went home with a collector who will give it the TLC it so richly deserves!

Kirby model R ( early model ) and Kirby model C ( later model with light )

These are stunning! I immediately thought of Jim ( VacMadMan ) when I saw these. Very nice indeed! Curious to know how many of these you took on trade while selling G4's?

(1989) Eureka Precision self propelled ESP model 5150.

Hmmm. They sold for around 285.00 back in early 90's. Self propelled, strong 7.5amp motor. We didn't have Home Depot or Costco or Lowe's and browsing the internet wasn't a thing yet so exposure wasn't what we have today. Never heard any complaints on these. Out of five Eureka model uprights...

The difference Human, can you tell me what the difference is between a diamond addition and a standard Kirby? Do they still do this with the later model G's?

    Early Royal Disassembly

stuck brushes Do you have spare carbon brushes for this motor? I was wondering if you could try to work the stuck carbons out carefully reaching them with what ever you can fit down the holder and tapping lightly on the brush or jarring it loose. I had a similar situation like yours and...
