My next big project ! ( vacuette , model C)

These two will look fantastic when completed. They already look pretty good for vacuums being 89ish and 98 yrs.old! Better than a lot of what we see pulled out of attics, basements and barns. Can't wait to see them at the finish line! Billy

And singing on the way to the register, "Papas got a brand new band."

    vintage blender

Oster Blenders John Oster was acquired by Sunbeam in the early 60's I believe. Those buttons that you have to press and hold are for pulsing, short bursts just enough to mix ingredients but not to over process or for lightly chopping onions etc. to a specific size or courseness.

    Northern Midge Electric Radio

When AM radio was king! Very cool radio and restoration. I remember hearing that back when AM was mostly all people listened to that the tuners were of much better quality. As FM came on the air and became so popular, AM took a back seat. They even had AM stereo radio at one time. I don't know...

Hoover Dial A Matic joins the others

Yep! I remember the first time seeing your staircase all festive with Hoovers lining the walls from top to bottom and of course garland weaving through the banister since it was Christmas! I think you had white mini-lights also running up the staircase to showcase said vacuums. Festive it...

CorningWare "Electromatic" - who has one?

CorningWare My grandmother started collecting CW in the mid sixties. She had everything they made and loved all of it. When she finally reached critical mass she had grandpa take a picture of her standing with her collection. Any leftover food cooked in her Corning went right into her other...

Vintage Refrigerators - Combating Styrene Odor

Good story Anthony If he wanted to invest the time and effort and a little $$ he could dig out the old insulation and there are surely some ready mixed foam insulation types he could shoot in there I imagine. Up in snow country or say Canada they have foams made for freezing winters for...

Dirt devil deluxe upright with LED lightbulb

D.D.Deluxe Yes you take the whole top piece off. The lense covering the light bulb is part of the top, although you can remove it once the top is off. This cover your removing doesn't use screws to hold it on, you have to insert a flat blade screwdriver into the front sides and rear sides and...

    Electrolux Automatic E

Also, You might check the fan(s) for build up on the fins. There could be a lot of crud packed in there which would definitely have an effect on air flow and suction.

(1999) Hoover Steam Vac Plus 1000 model F5875-900.

Helpful tip I always run clear water through the machine and drain as much water/solution out as I can when finished. Just pull the trigger with motor off and move the cleaner back and forth until there's little to no water coming from the bottom. Once a year I run CLR through it to keep hard...

The Kirby Quest for a G5 has ended

texaskirbyguy That G5 is a classy ride for sure. And the price, hello. Anybody with an ounce of a clue knows what a value Kirby's are. Even more on the used market! That you were the buyer makes this a win/win for both you and the machine. I'm looking forward to seeing the end results. I spent...

3 old vacuums at junk store

Declan It's the Decade 80 you're after right? Try telling him you'll take the Decade at $15. Make it sound like that's all you care about. Then if he asks you what about the other two, hesitate, and say $20.00 is all I can do for the pair, since I don't even know if they run. He got his way...

General Electric 1948 Air Flo AVT 172 Service Manual

Hi J Welcome to VL! I'm going to say based on vacs I've seen from that era that the motor is somewhere from 3 to 5 amp @ 110-115v. We really didn't see 10-12 amp motors for residential use until the early 90's.My late 50's GE canister is rated 720watts @ 115v. Good luck with the resto.Someone...

Electrolux Model G -Hospital Filter Cleaner

Hi Keither, They say the Hospital G is one of the quietest vacuums Electrolux ever made, even more so than the regular G which was pretty quiet too. Curious if you've had a chance to compare the two and notice any difference. Nice purchase! Always a treat for the viewers.
