My 50-year-old HVAC system gives up the ghost

Unfortunately it has come to this. Just get it done and let it be someone else's problem if it wasn't done right the first time.

What states have you used a vacuum in ?

@human That is what this tread is about. Just have a little fun and think about all the great places we have been. Her theme song must have been Willie Nelson's On the road again. Or Iv'e been every where by Johnny Cash. @Gottahaveahoover. Nice you made it to Ireland. I would like to go there...

    Anyone see this eBay Listing?

That is quite the price. Kirbyloverdan will make collectors happy some day. He buys 2 of each current model Kirby. One for show and play. The other kept in the box unused. I think he has NIB Kirby's that start with the Kirby Classic model to the current machine. I wonder how many others were...

    Sanitronic 7 mods

You must be thinking of a reusable dust cup to swap out. Years a go James Keeler came up with a bagless dirt collection system for the Kirby. Didn't go well. If you do a search for James Keeler you will find more about him. https://www.abbysguide.com/vacuum/reviews/r515.html

What states have you used a vacuum in ?

Nice. I would like to work with a truck mount carpet extractor and see what it is all about. San Antonio is a fun place to visit. Spent a long weekend there when I worked for an airline in 1999 - 2000.

My 50-year-old HVAC system gives up the ghost

@ Lesinutah True Laminated wood products are structurally stronger and more stable than solid wood products. The down side to Engineered wood floors is they can only successfully be lightly sanded and refinished one time. Sounds like there has been quite a bit of water soaking into the...

What states have you used a vacuum in ?

Today I was at one of the Elementary schools we clean working with 2 new employees. I was going room to room vacuuming the area rugs in the rooms. One of the rooms has a carpet with a picture of the united states on it. Being in a happy go lucky mood. I casually mentioned to the instructor Hey...

Garland, Texas thrift find - Oreck XL Compact Canister Vacuum

Those are some great pictures of the ride home. Very nice interior of the car as well. Someone kept in in very nice shape. And an engine you don't need a computer to diagnose or repair. I can remember the days when cars were styled like that.

My 50-year-old HVAC system gives up the ghost

@madman Oh I know. I grew up in a single family home and helped clear off land and maintain my Grandparents property. No stranger to what lies ahead. My dad and grandfather taught me quite a bit about up keep and repairs. Glad I took the time to learn. @human. I could have been happy with 3...

My 50-year-old HVAC system gives up the ghost

@human Yes it is sad that products that once lasted decades now have a much shorter life span. The new furnace may give you a longer lifespan than maybe expected. If repairs need to be made any time around year 9 to 10 under warranty you could expect another 9 to 10 years trouble free...

    Hide-A-Hose

@gottahaveahoover For myself I'm thinking of the future. Do I really want to work as hard at cleaning as I do now? The Hide a hose Vacuumdevil is showing here looks to be a better setup than the one I tried out years ago. The hose was much smaller than this one. That and the Dirtdevil power...

    Hide-A-Hose

A lot of people over the years have stated how nice a built in system is. They like the way it works and how easy cleaning is when all you need to do is plug in a hose to a wall jack. No different that plugging in an electric cord to an outlet. And no heavy unit to push around or pull behind you.

    Telephones

Oh yeah I had forgotten about the first cordless phones having a long antenna. I think I have seen a Muraphone but never had a chance use one. Remember the bag car phone? those were nice.
