Todays Picture of the day Apex Upright

I would like to know how the hose converter worked on that machine and how well it performed above the floor. Looks like it would be very similar idea to the Hoover slide in converters that didn't make a complete seal to the fan case like on a Kirby or Royal and or any canister vacuum to...

    Lucy Loves Westinghouse!

Wasn't Lucy also promoting Hoover vacuums as well. Seems that I have seen Lucy with one of the Hoover cylnder vacuums of the day in advertisements?

    Kirby COMVAC 1600 for Sale

I can't imagine why Kirby would have used the standard rug guard on the commercial model. I wouldn't want to try and release and relock those cam locks to replace a belt.

Regina Electrikbroom Powerteam Mystery Model ~1983 Help A VacHead?

I'm not sure what you mean by "what I really have" However I had one in 1988 when I was in Fl. to finish up a travel training class. I did work well and several of us used it to clean our dorm rooms. I even got a free hair cut for letting the girls doing hair cuts for friends use it to clean...

    A great estate sale discovery!

Nice score. That set would fit my 511. I have an original hose. However. the vacuum draws more air thru the length of the hose than the attachment end. But then what can you expect after 70 years.

Carpet extractor/ spot cleaner low foam or non foaming detergent

You will want the standard carpet extraction cleaner for your machine. Use a commercial extraction cleaner. No you will not need to rinse after. You can use Zep products which you can get at Home Depot or from your supplier of other products you get. As for the water hog mats. A pressure washer...

Does the outer bag fabric still matter?

Maybe time to consider using the Rit color setting agent before washing any vacuum bag to preserve the color. https://www.ritdye.com/instructions/how-to-use-rit-color-stay-dye-fixative/

    DrainVac Little Giant Central Vacuum

For that kind of money you won't have any regrets even if you only get 10 years out of it.

I am now a (hopefully proud) Kirby owner

I think you will like the Sentria. I do like mine I really like it with the fixed length 12 foot hose. I can really get things done. I use the Sentria more than my Heritage II.

Quantum X Upright Water filtration vacuum

I couldn't remember exactly what the airflow was on the rainbow. I just remembered that I didn't find it impressive. Have you had any noticeable dust/hair not being captured at times when the intake tube wasn't fully submerged in the water?

Quantum X Upright Water filtration vacuum

From your airflow test looks like the vacuum is pulling the same CFM the Rainbows have tested out at the power head. Stalling agitator would be of concern. Hard on the motors and not effectively grooming plush carpeting. Sounds like it is more designed with Berber/looped carpet/low pile area...

Quantum X Upright Water filtration vacuum

Any one here tried one of these? Just saw it myself today. I did see one post from some time ago thru a google search that lead to here but didn't' see any responses to the post. On thing I noticed about it is the placement of the inlet tube into the water basin on that machine should really be...

Ultimate G Diamond Edition going through belts very fast

How does the shaft on the motor look? Could be worn due to grit between the belt and the drive shaft. This is a common condition on vacuums with the round belts. The pulley on the motor wears out to the point that their isn't enough tension on the belt to keep the belts from slipping. I have...
