    New Kenmore Canister Vacuums

. Is Panasonic now out of the vacuum biz? These are made by someone else then I guess... http://vacuums.reviewed.com/features/these-colorful-kenmore-vacuums-are-your-secret-weapons-for-spring-cleaning

    New to me Royal 886

. Very nice blue Royals Matt. Good work getting them sorted out. Kevin, sorry to hear of your troubles. I recently went into my station wagon I use to store some of my vacuums looking for a Royal. I found that the wheels on my green bagged metal Royal upright were weirdly all crumbly! That's...

Got me another Aerus over the weekend

. I paid more than I usually do, but this one is a like-new-little-old-lady-vac with all the extras, many still in their original wrappers. Also snapped up an 8 amp Royal metal upright and a clean Hoover WindTunnel, both of which I will resell and probably break even on the 3...gas included...

    Tristar CXL restoration complete! (mostly)

. Really good work I see there. They are gems these Tristars, so over looked. I have 2-3 of these awaiting the same treatment...someday.

    Is this really for sale?

. After commenting on this thread I happened upon this very model being sold used for the princely sum of $8. I met the individual, saw the vac, and politely declined. Not my cuppa this Eureka, nonetheless I hope it all works out for you.

    Vacuum Store Shifts Gears

. They had some vacuums there, just fewer than in the past. They may be switching over to new models for the new year, I don't know. They had a couple Sanitaire Blue Lines, a Dyson, a Royal WindTunnel...I was focused on other matters and left after a customer came in carrying a vacuum. There...

Two Royals are better than one..

. Thx all. Love Stark Royals for no apparent reason, was so glad to find one. Yup KC3 that's the sound! Before I oiled the motor it was all horrible rachety noise. Let the oil work it's way to the bearing for a couple of hours and presto, sounds like new again just like your video. Here's mine...

    Vacuum Store Shifts Gears

. Stopped in to a small mom & pop vacuum store today that I haven't been to in years. Last time I was there they incouraged me to stop by periodically to snag any cool vacuum they may have recently tossed into the dumpster. Never did, but thought to finally do so today. I was the only customer...

Two Royals are better than one..

. Exhumed these two Royals from their place of near eternal rest for long over due action. The blue model I bought at a thrift store a couple few years ago, while the red one was acquired father back in time, the details of which now escape me. I have never used either of these two vacuums...

    Oreck XL insight

. No need to apologize, the "deep cleaner" noise is for those without imagination. You said it perfectly, we are collectors who usually buy used vacuums for a fraction of what they sold for new, and judging our acquisitions on what price they originally were marketed is just an abstract...

    Royal PowerCast - Used Parts

. Great vacuum score, i have yet to see one in person. Yours it the TOL of 3 models: RY9000 blue bol, RY9100 red mol, and RY9200 gray tol. I do not know what exactly differentiates them, i think it is warranty, attachment quality and motor(s). The RY9200 i think being the only 2 motor machine...

Panasonic Dual Voltage Bagged Canister Vacuum

. Just came across one of these while clicking around, and thought to post it for the archive. Never saw one before, and may buy this one if the price is right.

    Reason to love old vacuums

. As i have mentioned here on at least a couple of ocassions, sometimes better not to over think "love" and just go with your gut and be glad a common home appliance can put a smile on your face. The best "reason" then being, for me at least, is no reason at all. When i indulge my passion for...

Tips for replacing bearings in 1400 series Eureka upright vacuum

. My suggestion was to simply look at the brushes and lubricate the bearing. My recomendation is easy to do, cost free, and addresses the two obvious variables that have yet to be eliminated. But since you apparently have specific expertise Jae, what motors will this particular vacuum take...

Tips for replacing bearings in 1400 series Eureka upright vacuum

. A sleeve bearing will probably not affect motor speed like that. The carbon brushes are far more likely the problem. I am not too familiar with this motor but given it's typical use in commercial vacuum's of the era i would imagine the brushes are an easy item to remove and replace because...
