These are the dirt pads (coffee filters) that I used in the Kirby on the shag rug.  I think the rug looks really good now.  I bet the Kirby would have done even better if I'd had real dirt pads instead of coffee filters, but that is just amazing.  The carpet really looked clean and I do vacuum...
